Chapter WHERE ARE YOU?

"Look I know what your going to say and if that's what you want to believe but please believe me....please...I had done nothing wrong."

She looked at him with a sad look on her face to see the state he was in. Bandages ,bruises and scars that marked him as the person he was. After all that was said and done on that day.. did he deserve any more than what he had already got, He looked at her with tired dead eyes that asked her to believe him for what happened but to his warm surprise she put her soft hand on his face that was rough and coarse but she didn't mind.

"Wolf I know you didn't do that to Sector V...it was your heart and soul and you lost it", "But why Aquila everyone else had abandoned me...?", "Cause I know you...you would of gave everything to save them and others I know you would...The reports, the children and families you had saved from the wrath of adversity...could never be repaid." She looked to him as he looked at her in surprise but he just continued to give a blank stare so she continued.

"Wolf you've been through so much alone losing the ones that you once cared for and loved dearly....I'm sorry Azur Lane had used your death as a scape goat so they could leave the alliance.", "Aquila how do you know how I even feel as a soldier? "He looked away and looked to the bridge dejecting her response to him. He couldn't believe her words just like the others who told him he was going to be alright and be the hero they wanted.

"I had someone dear to me serve the forces just like you...he always preached about how he wished that others would understand the pain that he had to endure, nights he would come knocking on my door that he couldn't sleep cause the nightmares kept coming to life and I heard it all....I tried to plead with him to seek some assistance from the others but they just didn't believe him and left him".

The pain in her eyes was something Wolf could tell was genuine adding some validity to the conversation she was telling him. "He abandoned the forces one day without saying goodbye and was found weeks later by another squad who identified that he was killed by some of our own". Wolf could not believe what she was saying cause he hadn't even heard about it even if he was in charge of Sector V at that point.

It made him wonder how many things Perri and the rest kept secret to not just him who was considered the most respected soldier in the face of the commanders but to the rest of the forces. Hearing it was nothing short of sad and sickening and he assumed that the soldiers that perpetrated it got away with the crimes that they had committed on them as Aquila teared up. "I didn't even get to say goodbye to him.... After all he had done and sacrificed was that what he deserved?".

Wolf could only look at her with pity, a dear friend he must of been to Aquila, he could also agree that the soldier she was talking about knew the cost of war and the pain it brought him to which she looked at him with pity herself even if tears were coming out of her green emerald eyes. "I don't understand...Wolf why do you and those others soldiers had to suffer the way you did?" A question that resonates in his mind.

The age old question that he still didn't have an answer that he could agree too or that he could live with? For king and country? For the freedom of all sacrifices had to be made? He wasn't too sure what he could say. Those days on the field with the bodies of the ones he used to talk to, laughed with and fought with being nothing more than a memory on a bloodstained battlefield racked by nothing but grief and pain.

He looked to her who was expecting a reply sooner or later but she could tell that he had no idea what to tell her since he hadn't came up with an answer himself. It sometimes made him feel like if he was even a person anymore that could feel the way others feel in their day to day lives but he would never know now the feeling and warmth of others being beside him or the feeling of coming home to a family that he could confide in.
