Chapter A SORE FEELING

"Soldier are there any survivors!?" A frantic look on Perri's face could be seen that even made the soldier feel worried for his own safety. With the mumblings and a quick shake of the head Perri knew that there were no survivors. "Thank you, soldier you can return to your post". With a salute the soldier followed suite saluting back and making his way out of the office while carefully closing the door behind him.

Even though Perri didn't sound scary, the sharp amber eyes that he had and the face that looked like he was going to put someone through 20 meters of concrete was enough to shake even the hardest soldier to the core. However now was not the time to reminisce about what had happened in the past since a past event had shaken him to the core... was he wrong? Nonsense the evidence was there on Wolf's case, there was no way he could of not done it right?

The more he asked himself these questions the more he felt uneasy about it all, he slowly walks to the couch and takes a seat exhaustively, He looks to the side to see a bottle of Whiskey that he pops open and pours the golden amber liquid into a shot glass. However his hand begins to shake as it pours spilling some of it on the coffee table to the point that his other hand he had to use to stabilize the other...

The shot glass was half full with the bottle being placed next to it with the whiskey swishing around in the bottle waiting for the next pour but there would be no next pour for him tonight. He sits there wallowing and wondering if Wolf really did kill his team, for the love they had for him. He knew that they would follow their captain to the darkest pits of hell if it was what it takes to complete the mission for that's what Sector V was formed as.

An elite group of soldiers who were willing to take the step forward into places that no other soldier would dare to go and that absent fear of the unknown and the bravery of a whole army had caused massive successes in regions where the fighting was fierce. However just like all armies it came at a cost of peoples lives.. .the times where he saw Wolf one day when he served back in the rangers unit that was meant to stop a massive convoy of Ferri that the others knew as one code word...

Operation Puncture... a gruesome fight that killed hundreds of thousands of soldiers along with the Ferri. Perri never agreed with the higher command when they did that resulting in so many deaths deeming it as a success... Even he is not innocent to the crimes they had committed. He too had removed it from all documents to save morale and now the rest live blissfully unaware of all the suffering that day brought people and he could see it still in the dead eyes of the captain.

It burns...

The whiskey had quite a kick but it kept Perri sharp but it could not fill the guilt filled soul he had of the captain who was just trying to save the world from collapse with the soldiers and friends he knew only for that to happen to him... he had to investigate this incident especially after what he had just got from that other soldier. He knew that if Wolf was deemed innocent Sector V would riot and abandon the army to make their own militia and that would be a blow they could not take.

Doesn't it hurt you Perri?

The voice inside of his head that circles and hovers around him where ever he goes in the base.... it wanted to remind him of the burden of being the top command now compared to when he was before. Years prior the army high command went radio silent and they did not hear another word from them...They couldn't send any small patrol team or an army toward where they were since they didn't even know where they were... even some things he was kept in the dark for just like everyone else.
