Our Brave Little Star and BFF Battle The Brain Tumor

Chapter 4

At the house Slipstream, Thundercracker, Novastorm and Skywarp were thinking about a few things. They knew their little brother was just diagnosed with a brain tumor, that is a type of brain cancer. They didn't know what to think or say for that manner. Slipstream was at a nearby arcade with her friends. She already told Megatron she was going to be there until after lunch and brought a good amount of the allowance that she saved. 

Slipstream hadn't told her friends yet. They were supposed to be enjoying their summer before her 8th grade year and her other siblings going up the next grade while Starscream went to school for the first time ever. Slipstream was thinking about her brother's recent diagnosis.

"Hey Slipstream is everything alright?" her friend Knockout asked.

"Oh I just don't know," Slipstream said.

"It seems like something is bothering you," Nightbird said. 

"Yes is everything alright?" Thunderblast asked.

"Something must be wrong," Breakdown said.

"You guys are right something is wrong and bothering me," Slipstream said.

"Well what is it?" Knockout asked as he got more tokens. 

"It's my little brother Starscream," Slipstream said.

"The brother who is a five year old?" Thunderblast asked. "What about him?" she asked.

"He's in Cook Children's hospital," Slipstream said.

"Oh no, is he okay?" Breakdown asked.

"He's sick," Slipstream said.

"That's not good," Nightbird said. "So what's he got?" she asked as she counted her tickets to see if she had enough for a crazy straw to use drink her soda for lunch at the buffet in the arcade. 

"He is has a brain tumor," Slipstream said. "The doctors tested it and it is Medulloblastoma a type of brain cancer," she said.

"That's terrible," Knockout said in shock. Knockout was hoping to become a doctor for children when he was grown and he was surprised that his friend's little brother had cancer.

"Is he going to be alright?" Breakdown asked. Breakdown knew Starscream like the rest of Slipstream's friends. He knew Starscream is a good kid.

"He'll be just fine, this her brother Starscream he never gets sick," Thunderblast said. Thunderblast always seems clueless and doesn't grasp how bad things can be like cancer.

"Well he's sick now," Nightbird said. "I know for a fact some people don't get better," she said. "My uncle died from cancer," she said. She knew what it was like to have loved one have cancer.

"Don't be so negative," Thunderblast said. "He'll be fine," she said.

"How do you know that?" Nightbird retorted.

"I just do, don't be so doomy gloomy," Thunderblast said. "he will back to being a little know it all again before we know it," she said.

"You don't know that," Nightbird snapped.

"Nightbird is right Thunderblast," Knockout said. "Cancer is a serious illness," he said. "My cousin who is hanging out with us today, he is currently learning to be a nurse who works with people who have cancer so he knows how bad it can be," he said. "Let's talk to him," he said. "Hey Outcharge," he called.

His cousin came over from where he was after finishing the game he was playing. "Hey what is it little cousin?" Outcharge asked.

"Slipstream told us she just found out her five year old little brother Starscream has brain cancer called Medulloblastoma all of us but Thunderblast is worried she doesn't seem to know how bad cancer can be," Knockout said.
