Chapter 69

"Look at me."

I slowly lifted my eyes up to see y/n covered in blood standing in the courtyard of the broken hogwarts

"I'm sorry y/n I didn't mean any of this to happen to you," I shouted

"I'm safe now with you." She walked towards me and cupped my face
"Promise me one thing, Mattheo."

"Anything princess," I said softly

"Let me go if the chance comes along."

I shock my head hard

"That will never happen," I said, frustrated that she would ask something like that from me.

"The chance will come. For me, please, Matty. I can't stay like this. " I closed my eyes for a brief second to open them again to see her standing next to herself in that hospital bed.

She walked up to me, grabbed my hand, and walked me over to the hospital bed.

"I would do anything to be with you again, Mattheo. I would have given you the world. Merlin's sake, I planned my whole future around you. A big house next to a beach with three children. Two boys and a little girl. "

I turned to face her, and she had tears down her face.

"This isn't a dream, is it y/n?" My voice was shaken

"No, Matty. This is me using my last bit of energy and power to say goodbye."

I couldn't stop the tears falling down my cheeks. I turned my body to her. My arms wrapped around her like a big blanket holding her with my head resting against her neck. I didn't want to let go. I pulled my head so it was resting on her forhead.

"I don't know what I'll do without you y/n."

"You will be fine, Mattheo. I'm so proud of the person you have become. I'll be watching over you. Like I have done this past year. Go live your life. Find someone who loves you. Create memories. I'll see you one day. I'll be that brightest star in the sky. "

My eyes are red and puffy. The tears wouldn't stop.

"I love you so much." it came out so quietly and muffled. I'm surprised it came out at all.

"I love you to the moon and back, Mattheo."

I meant her lips with a soft and tender kiss. I wished it would last forever.

"I've got to go now." she smiled and turned towards a light in a distance

She softly spoken. "I can see my parents, Sirus and Freddy." she slowly walked towards the light

Then, all of a sudden, she was gone.

I was woken up at her bedside by all the machines beeping and alarms going off.

Nurses and healers pushed me out of the way and threw the curtains around them while they rushed around y/n doing merlin knows what to save her.

A hand grabbed my hand. I looked to the side to see Pansy clearly looked shocked and panicked by the situation.

I turned to her. My eyes were heavy, with some tears falling down my cheek.

"She's gone, Pans," I said softly

She frowned with utter confusion and disbelief. "You're lying to me, Riddle," shaking her body and voice."They will save her,"

I pulled her into a hug, and we both cried together. I could see Enzo and Theo standing in the distance. I shook my head at them. Both of them went physically upset by pacing and crying.

I mouthed to them to send word to the trio. They nodded and left.

"Mr Riddle," a voice was soft

I turned around to see a healer

"Don't worry, I know," I said, trying to hold a little compoister. "She came to me in a dream,"

She smiled a little while rubbing the top of my arm. "She was truly lucky to have someone like you in her life." she gave one more soft smile before leaving, but gesturing if we wanted to see her, then we could.

We walked up to where y/n was lyed. The healers took all the wires and equipment off her. She just looked like she was sleeping.

"So beautiful," I sighed, stroking her hand. She was cold and pale, but my statement still stood.

A few weeks went by

We were at her funeral. It is a beautiful ceremony. Y/n closest family and friends all in attendance.

She was wearing a beautiful green dress with gold accessories. I placed my snake ring on her finger.

"The first thing I've ever said to you was you looked amazing in green. I'm not going to lie to you. I thought I would never see you again after that night. O, how you changed my world and flipped it upside down. I wished we had more time. I'll see you again. I love you to the moon and back. " I kissed her forhead before they closed the casket.

I stood with Pansy and the boys while they lowered her into the ground. The priest said a few prayers before they threw some soil onto her.

I looked towards Harry, who was holding tight to Ginny. They have become closer since y/n passing. Hermione and Ron gave me a small smile, and I returned the gesture.

My eyes scanned the placing of everyone. With Molly, Arthur, and George standing together. I can't even imagine what they are going through. The number of friends and family they have buried since the war, I'm surprised they are still standing.

I looked over to my friends. "Let's go,"

We walked to the safe house, just Pansy, Theo, and Enzo. We haven't heard from Draco since the war. I hope he's OK.

Theo pours four fire whiskeys and raises a glass.

"To y/n. The most amazing, strong, and beautiful girl that can make a nest of snakes look like a wildflower field,"

We all raised our glass and clicked them together. I took a big gulp and felt it burn on the way down.

"Merlin Theo. What did you put in this?"

He smiled. "Y/n was a firecracker, so I added a little more spirit to it."

I shook my head at him. Hours went by when we stayed up for hours talking about y/n.

I have no idea how I'm going to get over her, but she will never leave my heart.
