Chapter 19- Moonshine You Say

Charles goes up to Arthur asking him to join him on a job, he says that there is a man who has info on a moonshine wagon and wants Arthur to assist him.

Charles then walks sup "Good morning y/n! I have a job for you if you're up for it" I say "Of course what is it?" Charles informs me of what we're doing so I agree and ride out with them.

Charles says "We're not killin' anyone, just getting some information" Looking over at arthur, I laugh, arthur and I haven't had much conversation since I am still mad at him.

we had to go to three different men but ended up having to kill them due to them trying to kill us, Charles split off to find the fourth man who ran into the cornfields.

me and arthur are searching the cornfields, not speaking I mind you, i walk away for two seconds and I hear arthur grunt so I run over seeing arthur on the ground with a man behind him strangling the life almost out of arthur.

I do not hesitate to grab my throwing knife hitting him right in the chest, arthur says "th... thank you" while getting up, "You're welcome" as I walk off towards Charles.

we ride off back to camp and inform Dutch that we got a lead on the wagons and Hosea said he'd ride out with Arthur to go get them, so they do that as Dutch tells me about delivering some moonshine to Caliga hall once Hosea and Arthur get back"

I say "Should we just go with them since we have to deliver it after anyway? to not waste time?" Dutch says "You're right, go ahead and deliver it right away" 

I go to Sean and ask him to accompany me on this job, he agrees, we chat about him and Karen, and he mentions me and Arthur, which I refuse to talk about.

once Hosea and Arthur got one of the two wagons, me and Sean took the other to Caliga Hall at the Grays's place, it takes a bit for us to arrive but once we do I say "alright, I'll climb in the back, say you're alone, dont let them look back here, say you're the new shipment of moonshine, got it?" he nods as I climb back here.

I got back there "damn this is uncomfortable!" Sean says "Shut up! We're pulling up" As I giggle, he tells the guards he's the new shipment of moonshine, as another man gets on the wagon.

we take it to the back as the man gets off, I sneak out of the wagon and take out the man, and then we rest for the night.

Arthurs POV-

me and Hosea are currently on our way to drop off our shipment of moonshine to Rhodes Saloon, we find ourselves talking about what I should do about y/n, Hosea thinks I should just continue to give it time and wait it out.

Hosea gives me his hat and says "Hello!! this is my brother Artie Mortilif! we're here to deliver some moonshine for the saloon.

Hosea says "dont mind him, he's dumb and messed up, he killed our father, so I wouldn't mess with him if you know what I mean?" laughing.

they begin passing out the moonshine, a few hours pass and a group of men come in shoutin' that I stole their moonshine so a shootout happens.

I save Hosea from almost being choked to death, we go up to the balcony to finish off the rest of the men but Hosea gets knocked off so  I jump down onto the wagon as we ride off.

i tell Hosea that I'm gonna meet up with y/n and Sean at the grays to see if they need any help so we cut free the horses and split ways.

y/ns POV-

its almost time to spread the moonshine so I say "alright Sean so ill..." we hear a noise creepin' up so I grab my knife and begin walking towards the barn door.

all of a sudden it begins to open, I stand ready to kill whoever it is, whenever I see a body I grab them and put them in a chokehold, and the man begins coughing "It's just me!" as I quickly let him go.

I say "Oh my... I'm so sorry! I thought you were an intruder" As I walk back to my spot, he says "So what are we doing?" I say "Well, in a bit, we're gonna spread the moonshine on the fields, then torch them"

arthur says "Need some help?" I say "Yeah sure, Sean is gonna stay here in the barn, I dont trust him to not light himself on fire" laughing.

He says "Sounds like a plan" smiling, after a bit, I say "alright, let's move forward, we split up so we cover more ground quicker" hanging him a jug of moonshine.

we begin pouring it over the fields, after we pour it all over the field, we meet back in the barn pouring the shine in the barn.

we then torch the barn, getting g our guns ready knowing we know have to fight out of this, but the guards run to the barn as we make our way back to the field, torching them also.

we begin running towards the horses but then a guard comes up behind Arthur pushing him into the burning field, I grab his arm before he goes all the way in.

he looks down and sees his leg is on fire, he begins jumping around trying to put it out, I grab some random fabric that is next to me in the wheel barrel and begin hitting his leg with it, which gets the fire out.

Arthur says "This is a gosh damn massacre!!" Sean is covering for us, although he is not doing too well, we eventually get to our horses, Arthur's horse he was on ran off from the fire so he had to get in the back of mine.

Sean says "Well that was eventful" chuckling, I say "Yeah it was" laughing along, Arthur says "Thank you again, y/n, for saving me" I say "dont worry about it" as we ride off back to camp.

Dutch says "My boy! what happened?" I say "We burned the gray's field, they're gonna be after us now" Dutch says "Perfect! Get some rest y'all deserve it" smiling.

that next morning- 

bright and early, 5 am, I get up doing my chores around the camp, I see arthur carrying the hay as I hear Jack say "Hay is for horses heh!" giggling. 

I smile, loving Jack and Arthurs's relationship, I walk over to Snowflake, brushing her, just spending some time with her.

Trelawny walks up to me "y/n! Do me a favor!' I say "No, you're as slippery as an eel in an oil slip! go find someone else to bother!" walking away.

I see a dog walk up to Jack and Dutch so I walk over there, Jack says "Uncle Dutch! look a dog! whos is it?" Dutch says "he belongs to no one Jack" leaning down, petting the dog.

I say "He's a mighty cute dog Jack" smiling, dutch says "That he is, we should keep him" Jack says "Yay! What will we name him?" I say "How about Able?"

Dutch says "he looks more like a Caine" Petting the dog, he adds, "y/n, dear, Micah told me about a lead with Colm, he says that he wants to make peace" 

I say "Dutch don't do it, it is a setup" he says "I dont know, maybe we can settle this once and for all" Micah walks up "Hey diseased cow, pestering Dutch more and more?"

I say "No you greasy ass wipe! I'm helping him with Colm!" Dutch says "Alright, we will do it! ARTHUR!!" he walks up, "Yeah Dutch?" he says "We're meeting with Colm, I ain't doing it without you though, you in?" 

Arthur says "I dont know Dutch" Sounding unsure, I say "But it could resolve things if Colm initiated it, I definitely wouldn't go without Arthur keeping watch though"

dutch says "With you protecting me, I'd walk into hell itself" Micah says "Well then let's get going" as they all mount up their horses, giving arthur a be careful look as they ride off.
