Chapter 6- Trouble In Valentine

A few days have gone by in the camp of Van Der Linde, it's been around 2 weeks since we've been here, and everyone was cleanin', organizin', huntin', and hanging out.

Arthurs bear's wound has healed nicely, obviously with some scarring but it's almost healed and there's a tiny scar on his chin where he got scratched.

y/n, Abigail, Tilly, and Sadie have really become a close tight-knit family, everything was going right for y/n, Dutch was finally starting to acknowledge her as a part of the gang, Micah has been gone so that's a plus, and she and Arthur had been talking a lot.

today was a little different than how the past few days had been going, Uncle had asked Arthur to go into town with him to get some supplies for the camp but a few ladies wanted to come along.

So Arthur, Uncle, Tilly, y/n, and Mary Beth all loaded up into the wagon and headed off to Valentine for some shopping, On the ride there, the ladies were just having a blast singing, which put a smile on Arthur's face, Uncle is annoyed.

when we get there Arthur says "alright ladies, we're gonna go get some supplies for camp, yall do what y'all need'ta do, and meet us back here in an hour" and smiles.

we all split off so I went into a few stores and then the hotel to see if I could find somewhere to properly wash myself since camp doesn't have a bathtub.

once I got there I accidentally walked in on a man as he was getting out so when he got out he grabbed me and dragged me up to his room in the hotel, apparently I was late going back to the wagon and Arthur noticed I wasn't back yet.

a few minutes later Arthur has done kicked the door down and noticed that I was being harassed by this man so he beats the crap out of that guy and then shot him, I say "Arthur thank you" crying and grabbing onto him.

he says "What happened darlin?" I say "I was trying to bathe and I accidentally walked In on this man and a few moments later he had gotten out and dragged me into his room and harassed me until you came in there, I'm glad you came when you did" looking down nervously.

he says "Well, as long as I'm around no one is hurting you I dont care who it is" grabs my hand as we walk back into the wagon.

Tilly says "Oh my gosh, are you okay?" "yeah, I'm fine, just a little shaken up that's all" and softly smiles, she says "one of my exes tried to get me to come back to him and Arthur had to step in, i felt bad cause he was just tryin' ta relax"

I say "Well Arthur seems to care about others more than himself" and smiles, she says "he just recently became this way, actually since he met you, he's changed"

I say "Is that so?" Looking curious now, she says "I think he's got a little crush, he doesn't look at us the way he looks at you, you're special to him y/n" and smiles.

I just look at her smiling, she says "So, I need to know, how do you feel about him?" grinning, I say "I... I shouldn't feel this way but I really like him, he makes me feel like I'm actually important, protects me but lets me be independent, which I like" and smiles.

Tilly says "So... does that mean if he wanted to be with you, you'd say yes?" I say "I would, he's everything I want in a man, which let me say, I didn't think was possible, not even my late husband"

she says "It's okay to move on and be happy with someone, you said yourself he wasn't the greatest you" and rubs my arm gently.

I say "I know it's just things weren't the best when he died, I guess I just a little scared for fallin' for someone else, I dont think Sadie understands that cause her relationship her her husband was perfect" and looks down sadly.
