Gale's POV
As we made our way down the steep mountain, into the forest, I noticed that they were more signs of life now. Before in the mountain there were only the occasionally field mice or small bear, across miles upon miles of open wide terrain. But now, there were birds in the trees, bunnies and foxes in their burrows, deer and elks roamed the forest, the forest was so much more alive then the barren mountain plateau.
Kane said,"Smell the air, tell me what you smell."
I closed my eyes while we walked, I focused on my nose and said,"There's a deer behind us, two mice in the tree next to us, birds in a nest on that pine tree."
I opened my eyes and Kane smiled a little, I felt my heart beat a little bit faster, he said,"Good but now try and smell only werewolves, try and find them with only my scent."
I sniffed him, he smelled like pine leaves and berries, I then sniffed the surroundings and try and block out all the other scents. I then opened my eyes, thousands of werewolves smells reached my nose, all different with unquie smells, it was kind of overwhelming, I covered my nose and said,"A lot of them to the north of us, over there."
He patted my head,"Good job, Gale. It seems your getting back in tune with your wolf now."
I smiled, feeling a little proud of myself, I can really now feel my wolf. Before it was only slivers but now during this past week, I felt our bond strengthening, I could feel that we were so close to shifting again, I've missed my wolf form for so long.
We saw some fires in the distance, he lightly tapped me and I nodded, we then began to climb a massive pine tree that was a few meters in length, we carefully did so to avoid dropping any snow to the ground.
It was the same two hunters from before, they were still arguing but now I can make out there appearances, the short dark blue haired human was a muscular man in his twenties, he was wearing a black shirt and oversized green pants, he had a dark blue cloak that draped over his whole body, dragging across the snow. He had his hand on his belt, holding something hidden that I couldn't see. He looked plain but meanacing, the way his dark blue eyes danced around made my uneasy. The vampire with red hair was a bit taller than him but more lean, he had well combed long black hair that went to his shoulders, he had piercing red eyes like all vampires do but dark bags under them, he was wearing a neat brown trench coat with a white tunic underneath and blue jeans with combat boots on and a longsword on his back made up of silver and wolfsbane. Like all vampires he looked beautiful with an alluring charm against him.
I suddenly understood what Kane meant by hunters covered in blood. Both of them reeked of werewolf blood, I could smell corpses and rotting flesh on them and fresh blood on them too. The smell was so revolting that it made it hard for me not to throw up.
The human said annoyed in a deep voice,"Your nose must be malfunctioning freak, no one would be crazy enough to cross the mountain and still go the long way across the Blue Forest."
The vampire sneered, which ruined the pretty face he had by crinkling up his nose,"Don't mock me mortal, I know what I smelled. At least I'm trying to be productive, where's your so called tracking skills, hmm?"
The human growled,"Shut it Nori, how the hell would I track these imaginary mutts that you made up? Don't waste my time, we're going back to the southern border, most rouges try and enter through there anyway."
"Don't try and order me around Darius, or I swear I'll suck you dry," The vampire Nori threathened.
The human Darius groaned,"That does not sound as threatening as you think!"
