Kane's POV

I was shocked by the sound of her mesmerizing l voice but I decided to not make it a big deal if I wanted her to talk again. I then began to read my book before doze off in my sleep...

I was awoken by a sudden Boom!!

I bolted out of bed and rushed to the window, I saw dozens of warriors running frantically outside armed weapons running into the forest. I opened the window, it was the dead of night it was almost completely black out except for a huge forest fire to the west of us into the forest. Wolves were rushing across the streets, running directing towards the forest fire, except some who were evacuating the young ones and the elderly, there were supplies being pass, wolves being on edge, all this could mean one thing, war.

I cursed to myself as I went back to wake Gale up. I thought we would have at least the day before they start fighting again. I shook Gale, but she was out like a light, I had to shake her really hard to wake her up.

She sat up and rubbed her eyes, drowsy, I said,"Common, we gotta go now, this pack isn't safe anymore."

She was still waking up so I had to help her get dress and in a few minutes we were all packed up and ready to leave. Then Gale looked at me with shock as we ran outside into the chaotic city.

I grabbed her hand as we ran, I said,"We have to go north, we'll circle around to avoid the incoming packs."

I cursed myself again, I still haven't grabbed this pack's crystal yet. I'm going to have to get back to it at a later date. It's going to mess up my whole schedule, I bit my lip.

Gale was running too slow, so I had to grab her and carry her bridal style. We were half way up the hill side when we ran in into one of the Alpha subordinates, the Beta I'm pretty sure.

She had short sliver hair and a tanned muscular body wearing a t shirt and shorts with a sword slung on her back. She looked at us and growled,"Were you to part of this?"

I growled back,"No. We're just trying to run away, I thought this was suppose to be a safe pack, why are you fighting now?"

She took out her sword and said with anger,"It wasn't us!! Those bastards at Blue Steel attacked us in the dead of night unprovoked. We were too busy with the party to notice them slipping past our borders."

She then yelled at the wolves runing around us,"Left east side!! We'll separate them and thin them out!! Alpha is going to draw out the main forces!! So focus on the left flank!!"

They all suddenly became organized, they listen to their Beta's orders and rushed into the forest. She then ran off to joined the others, the sounds of battle echoed the forest with flames crackling in the distance.

I gripped Gale's hand and said,"Common we have to go-"

She tugged my arm and looked at me with confusion. I sighed and said,"We aren't helping them, it's their fight, now we have to go."

Gale stepped in front of me with new found determination in her eyes, I almost jumped back, shocked by her outburst. She never acted so bold infront of me before. I stared into her darken blue eyes, I couldn't tell what she was saying but I knew it was along the lines of, "I won't let the same thing that happened to me, happened to them."

I paused for a moment, I hesitated, we would be putting ourselves in unnecessary danger if we go. There really is no benefit if we went-

She then grabbed my hands softly, I felt sparks flying, she looked at me with pleading eyes. We stared deep into each others eyes, I bit my lip and sighed,"Okay. But your following my lead. Focuse on protecting yourself before others, got it?"
