Lauren's POV:

"Don't worry, we'll find a way to make this work. We might have to or I might lose my mind." Shawn said with his hands holding my face. We both smiled and I looked into his greenish brown, beautiful eyes as he stared deeply into mine. Our faces started to move closer together. Both of us knew this would be a bad idea, yet that didn't stop us from moving closer. Just as our lips were about to touch, my phone started to ring.

We both snapped out of the trance we were in and quickly separated. "Um, I'm going to answer this now." I said as I pulled out my phone.

"Yeah you go do that." Shawn said awkwardly

"Hello?" I answered.

"Hey Laur, it's Mason."

"Oh, hey Mason," I said, and then looking over at Shawn. 'Im sorry' I mouthed to him. He forced a smile and told me to go ahead. I walked out of his room and into the hallway. "What's up?"

"I just wanted to call and see how you were. We got home pretty late last night and I wanted to make sure you had enough sleep."

"Yeah, Mason I'm great," I laughed and so did he, which made me smile a little more, "Is that the only reason you called?"

"Yup that's it." Mason said briefly.

"Alright well then I'll see you on Monday at sch-"

"No, that's not the only reason I called. I wanted to know if you would want to go out to dinner with me sometime. Like maybe next Friday night?" He asked and I could tell he was really nervous. I was stuck. I wanted to say yes because I wanted to give Mason a chance because he was such a great guy, but on the other hand, I wanted to say no because of the whole Shawn thing.

"Mason Decker, are you asking me out on a date?" I asked.

"I mean, we don't have to call it that if you don't want to. Or if you're busy we can do it another ti-" He was babbling like crazy. Ugh what do I do? I thought to myself. I mean I like Mason a lot, but there's only one problem. He's not Shawn.

"Mason, calm down calm down," I said giggling into the phone, "I'd like that. Next Friday at 7? Does that work?"

"Absolutely!" Mason exclaimed. "Bye Lauren."

"Bye Mason." I said looking at my phone as I hung up. I walked back in to Shawn's room, to find him sitting in his chair with his guitar again, only this time his shirt was on. "So that was Mason." I said as I plopped back down on his bed.

"Oh, right yeah, how is he?" Shawn asked, not picking his head up from his guitar.

"He's good. He's good." I answered.

"Yeah?"

"Yeah. Um, Shawn?"

"Yup?" he asked, still not looking at me.

"Um, he kind of asked me out on a date..." I said nervously.

Shawn's POV:

My head shot up from my guitar and looked directly at Lauren. Shit. Shit Shit Shit. I knew this would happen. It was only a matter of time before he made a move. "Oh, well good for him! That's great." But it wasn't really all that great. Why was I so upset? What was I thinking? I have a girlfriend. I cant forbid her from seeing someone. It's just not fair.

"I said yes." Lauren said in a sad-ish tone, "Um, if that's ok with you. Listen I know we have something here, but you have Miranda and I didn't want to blow him off because he's finally over her and-"
