Shawn's POV:

"Hello?" I said after i had gotten my phone out of my pocket.

"Yo, Shawn," It was Mason, "Hey, so we haven't hung out in a while so you wanna come over to my place tonight?"

I really wasn't in the mood to do anything, but it would get my mind off Lauren and Miranda, so what the hell. "Yeah, alright sounds cool.  I'll be over in ten."  I was getting my stuff together when Aaliyah came out of her room. "Oh my god, you scared me."

"Where are you going?" she asked me.

"I'm going over to Mason's.  Why do you care?" I asked her, pushing her aside.

"I just wanted to know why mom was having Lauren come over to babysit me.  I'm thirteen years old! I do not need a babysitter..."

"Wait, Lauren's coming over here?"

"Yeah, don't you listen?" She walked back into her room, closing the door behind her.  Shit. I thought.  I wanted to stay here now, but I felt bad cancelling on Mason.  Oh well, I guess I'll have to take my chances that she'll be here when I get back.

I ran down the stairs, grabbed my keys, and opened the door, only to be on the ground the next second.  Of course, it was Lauren.  "Um, hey, sorry about that."

"No, it's fine, um, just watch where you're going I guess," she said letting out a small laugh.  God she looked so hot tonight.  She was wearing tight skinny jeans, with a baggy sweatshirt, her hair was in a messy side braid, and she had on her glasses, which made her look like a hipster.  She looked so casual, yet so perfect.  "What...?" She had caught me staring.

"Oh, um, nothing.  It's just, I didn't know you wore glasses." I said smiling.

"Yeah, I do, I just dont like to wear them at school because they're kind of nerdy." She said, looking at the ground.

"No, I like them." I said back at her.  There was an awkward silence between us as we stood under my porch, both looking at the ground.  "Sooo, um I'm going to go."

"Yeah, I should get going too.  Well, not going going, but just, um, inside" she said nervously.  "Bye Shawn." she said as she shut the front door.

"Bye Lauren." I said as I walked to my car.

"So, Mason, what's the deal with you and Lauren?" I asked him as we sat in his basement watching '21 Jump Street'.

"I don't know man, I mean, she kissed me on the cheek yesterday before she went to Miranda's, but i don't know.  I really really like her and she's so beautiful and smart and funny, and-"

"Wait, she kissed you?" My heart sank a little in my chest.

"I know right! It was just a little peck on the cheek, but that has to mean something right? I mean I hope it means something." I could tell that Mason really liked her, and I was starting to get jealous.
