Four months later - February 2024
Ryan and Winter had been together for four months now, a period marked by healing and discovery. Winter, having escaped an abusive relationship, had found solace in Ryan's arms.
The four of them were heading to Nevada to film a new episode and a haunted cabin awaited them, and they needed to catch an early flight.
As the alarm blared on his phone, Ryan groaned and reached over to silence it. He glanced down at Winter, who was nestled comfortably in his arms, his face serene in sleep. Ryan smiled and gently nudged him.
"Hey, Win, time to get up," Ryan whispered, his voice tender.
Winter grumbled and burrowed deeper into Ryan's chest, clearly reluctant to leave the warmth of the bed. Ryan chuckled softly and placed a gentle kiss on Winter's forehead.
"Come on, babe. We've got a flight to catch," Ryan murmured.
Just then, the door creaked open, revealing Wyatt standing there, looking a mix of amused and exasperated.
"Guys, come on. We need to get moving if we don't want to miss our flight," Wyatt said, leaning against the doorframe. He wasn't surprised to see his twin in Ryan's bed. It had become a common sight over the past few months.
Ryan sighed and gently shook Winter again. "You heard Wyatt. We really need to get up now."
Winter groaned but finally opened his eyes, blinking sleepily at Ryan. "Fine, I'm up," he mumbled, his voice thick with sleep.
Ryan grinned and gave him another quick kiss. "That's my boy."
They reluctantly disentangled themselves from each other and got out of bed. Wyatt watched them with a small smile before turning to head back to his room.
"Meet you guys downstairs in ten," he called over his shoulder.
As Ryan and Winter got dressed, River appeared in the doorway, already fully dressed and ready to go.
"Morning, lovebirds," River teased. "Hope you're ready for a spooky adventure."
Ryan rolled his eyes good-naturedly. "Yeah, yeah. Just give us a minute."
River nodded and disappeared, leaving the two to finish getting ready. Winter stretched, feeling a mix of excitement and nerves about the upcoming trip. It wasn't just the prospect of encountering paranormal activity that had his heart racing; it was also the fact that he would be spending this adventure with his brother, his friend and, in the case of Ryan, his beloved boyfriend.
Once they were dressed and had their bags packed, Ryan and Winter headed downstairs where Wyatt and River were waiting. They loaded their gear into the car and set off for the airport.
In the car, the atmosphere was a blend of excitement and anticipation. Wyatt, always the planner, was going over their itinerary.
"So, we've got everything lined up. We'll land in Reno, rent a car, and drive to the cabin. It's pretty isolated, so we should get some good footage," Wyatt explained.
