The next morning Winter woke slowly, feeling the warmth of Ryan's body pressed against his back, their limbs tangled in the sheets. He loved these moments of tranquility, where he felt safe and cherished. Ryan's hand was resting on the slight curve of his lower stomach, a gentle reminder of the life growing inside him. At twelve weeks, Winter hadn't quite developed a noticeable bump, but he could feel the subtle changes in his body.

As he lay there, the soft morning light filtering through the curtains, Winter's mind drifted to the last few months. Moving in with Ryan, River, and Wyatt had been a blessing. Leaving his abusive ex-boyfriend had been one of the hardest decisions he'd ever made, but the support of his brother and friends had given him the courage to move forward. And then there was Ryan.

Ryan had been his rock, his confidant, and eventually, his lover. Their relationship had started cautiously, both of them nervous about crossing the line from friends to something more. But as the months passed, their bond had only grown stronger, solidified further by Winter's accident two months ago. Ryan had been by his side through the recovery, never leaving him to face it alone.

Winter felt content and safe in Ryan's embrace. He believed that everything had happened for a reason, even if their relationship and the pregnancy were happening so quickly. He cherished these quiet moments, feeling Ryan's heartbeat against his back, each beat a promise of unwavering support and love.

Winter sighed contentedly, enjoying the feeling of Ryan's arms around him. But his peace was short-lived as a wave of nausea suddenly hit him. He quickly disentangled himself from Ryan's embrace and bolted to the bathroom, just in time to empty the contents of his stomach.

Ryan stirred at the abrupt movement, groggily reaching out to the space Winter had just vacated. "Winter?" he called softly, still half-asleep. When there was no immediate response, he forced himself awake and followed the sound of retching to the bathroom.

He found Winter hunched over the toilet, pale and trembling. Without hesitation, Ryan knelt beside him, rubbing his back in soothing circles. "Morning sickness?" he asked gently, his voice filled with concern.

Winter nodded weakly, wiping his mouth with a shaky hand. "Yeah. It's getting worse."

Ryan helped him up, guiding him to the sink where Winter rinsed his mouth. "I wish there was more I could do to help," Ryan said, frustration evident in his voice. "It breaks my heart seeing you like this."

Winter smiled weakly, touched by Ryan's concern. "Just being here helps more than you know," he reassured him.

Ryan's eyes softened as he looked at Winter, seeing the vulnerability and strength in his gaze. "We'll get through it together," he promised, pulling Winter into a gentle embrace.

They stayed like that for a moment, drawing comfort from each other's presence. Then, with a sigh, Winter pulled back. "I should try to eat something. The doctor said it might help with the nausea."

Ryan nodded. "I'll make you some toast and tea. Something light for now."

As they made their way to the kitchen, the smell of coffee greeted them. River and Wyatt were already up, seated at the table and deep in conversation. They both looked up as Ryan and Winter entered.

"Morning, guys," River greeted with a smile. "How are you feeling, Winter?"

Winter shrugged, managing a small smile. "Morning sickness is hitting hard, but I'm hanging in there."

Ryan busied himself preparing the toast and tea while Winter took a seat at the table, as Ryan soon brought them over.

The conversation shifted to lighter topics as they enjoyed a quiet breakfast together. Despite the challenges, Winter felt a profound sense of gratitude for the people in his life. Being supported through thick and thin.

After breakfast, River and Wyatt headed out, leaving Ryan and Winter to spend the day together. Ryan suggested they take a walk in the nearby park, hoping the fresh air would do Winter some good. Winter agreed, knowing the exercise might help alleviate some of his nausea.

As they strolled through the park, hand in hand, Winter felt a sense of calm wash over him. The sun was shining, birds were singing, and for a moment, everything felt perfect.

For the rest of the day by the time they got home from going on a walk they relaxed and did nothing, just having a lazy day. Winter felt a sense of calm wash over him. Despite the challenges they faced and the uncertainties ahead, he knew they would get through it together. In Ryan's arms, he felt stronger, ready to face whatever the future held for them and their growing family.

Back in the warmth of their bed, Ryan pulled Winter close, his hand once again resting on Winter's stomach. They lay in comfortable silence, the only sounds being their steady breaths and the occasional rustle of sheets. Winter's mind wandered to the future, imagining their lives with a baby. He smiled at the thought, feeling a mixture of excitement and nervousness.

"Do you think we're ready for this?" Winter asked softly, breaking the silence.

Ryan's thumb traced small circles on Winter's stomach. "I think we're as ready as we can be. And if we're not, we'll figure it out together. One step at a time."
