A few days later and Ryan and Winter were preparing to leave for a few days to stay in a hotel and film a vlog to put on Ryan's YouTube channel.
Ryan glanced at the packed bags on the floor of the living room. "I think we got everything," he said, more to himself than to anyone else.
River leaned against the doorframe, arms crossed, a playful smirk on his face. "You sure you don't want to take the kitchen sink too?"
Ryan rolled his eyes. "Funny. You and Wyatt gonna be alright without us for a couple of days?"
"Please," Wyatt scoffed, walking into the room and throwing an arm around River's shoulders. "We'll probably get more work done without you two lovebirds around."
Winter chuckled as he walked over, his eyes sparkling with amusement. "Just don't burn the place down, okay?"
"Hey, no promises," River joked, giving a mock salute.
Ryan shook his head, a smile tugging at his lips. "Alright, we're out of here. Text if you need anything."
As they left the apartment and got in the car Winter picked up the camera and turned it on, aiming it at Ryan. "Say hi to the viewers, babe."
Ryan grinned at the lens. "Hey guys, Ryan here. So, Winter and I are heading out for a few days to spend some quality time together. We figured we'd take you along for the ride. Ready?"
"Ready," Winter replied, flipping the camera around to face himself. "Let's do this."
The drive to the hotel was filled with easy conversation and laughter, the kind that comes naturally when you're with someone you care about. Winter's heart swelled as he watched Ryan drive, the sun casting a golden glow on his face. It had been six months since they had admitted their feelings for each other, and despite the initial nerves and insecurities, their relationship had grown stronger every day.
Especially after Winter's accident two months ago. The memory of that day still haunted him, the screech of tires, the jarring impact, and the searing pain that followed. But through it all, Ryan had been his rock, never leaving his side, nursing him back to health with a tenderness that melted Winter's heart.
Winter reached over and squeezed Ryan's hand. "I can't wait for this weekend," he said softly.
Ryan glanced at him, his eyes warm. "Me neither. It's gonna be great."
They arrived at the hotel in the late afternoon, the sky a brilliant canvas of oranges and pinks. Ryan parked the car, and they unloaded their bags, making their way to the reception desk.
"Reservation for Ryan and Winter," Ryan said to the receptionist, who smiled and typed something into her computer.
"Ah, yes. Here you are. Three nights, you are on the fourth floor and the key has your room number on it. Enjoy your stay," she said, handing over the keycards.
"Thanks," Winter said, taking one of the keycards. He turned the camera back on and started recording as they made their way to the elevator. "Alright, guys, we're here. Time to check out our room."
The suite was spacious and elegantly furnished, with a large bed, a sitting area, and a balcony that offered a stunning view of the city. Winter did a quick tour with the camera, ending with a shot of Ryan flopping onto the bed with a dramatic sigh.
"This is perfect," Ryan said, patting the spot beside him. "Come here."
Winter set the camera on the bedside table and joined Ryan on the bed, their fingers intertwining. For a moment, they just lay there, soaking in the peace and quiet.
Ryan leaned in and kissed him, a soft, lingering kiss that spoke volumes of their love and commitment to each other. When they finally pulled apart, Winter rested his forehead against Ryan's, his heart full.
"Let's make some memories this weekend," Winter whispered.
Ryan smiled. "Let's."
The rest of the evening was a blur of laughter, cuddles, and sweet moments. They ordered room service and ate dinner on the balcony, the city lights twinkling below them. Winter filmed bits and pieces for the vlog, capturing their playful banter and the comfortable silences that spoke of their deep bond.
Later, as they settled into bed, Ryan turned off the camera and set it aside. "You ready for tomorrow's adventure?" he asked, wrapping an arm around Winter.

The next morning, they woke up early, eager to explore. After a quick breakfast, they headed out, camera in hand, ready to document their day. They visited local landmarks, tried new foods, and even did a bit of shopping.
At one point, they stumbled upon a quaint little park with a beautiful fountain at its center. Ryan pulled Winter to a stop, a mischievous glint in his eye. "How about a quick Q&A for the vlog?" he suggested.
Winter laughed. "Why not? Got any questions in mind?"
"Actually, I do." Ryan set up the camera on a nearby bench and started recording. "Alright, everyone, we're taking a little break to answer some of your questions. First up: What do you love most about each other?"
Winter blushed, thinking for a moment. "I love how patient and understanding Ryan is. He's always there for me, no matter what. And he has this incredible ability to make me feel safe and loved."
Ryan's heart swelled at Winter's words. "For me, it's Winter's strength and resilience. He's been through so much, but he never lets it bring him down. He's kind, compassionate, and has this amazing ability to find joy in the little things. Plus, he's pretty cute," he added with a wink.
They answered a few more questions, their responses filled with warmth and laughter. As they wrapped up the Q&A, Ryan turned to Winter, a soft smile on his face. "You know, I'm really glad we did this."
"Me too," Winter replied, leaning in for a kiss.
The rest of the day passed in a blissful haze. They returned to the hotel in the late afternoon, tired but happy. As they sat on the balcony, watching the sunset, Winter felt a sense of contentment wash over him.
"Thank you for this," he said softly, turning to Ryan. "I needed it more than I realized."
Ryan squeezed his hand. "We both did. And we'll have plenty more adventures together, I promise."
Winter smiled, feeling a warmth spread through his chest. He knew that their journey together was just beginning, and he couldn't wait to see where it would take them. For now, though, he was content to simply be, here and now, with the man he loved by his side.
