Two weeks later and Winter was well enough to go home and continue recovering at home.

Winter winced slightly as Ryan helped him into the back seat of the car, their movements slow and careful. Wyatt glanced back from the driver's seat, his expression a mix of concern and relief.

"Take it easy, bro," Wyatt said gently. "We'll be home soon."

"Thanks," Winter murmured, leaning back against the headrest. He closed his eyes for a moment, the familiar ache in his skull a constant reminder of the accident. Ryan, seated beside him, gently squeezed his hand, offering silent support.

River, sitting in the passenger seat, turned around to look at Winter. "Need anything? Water? Painkillers?"

"I'm good for now," Winter replied, his voice soft but steady. "Just...happy to be going home."

The drive home felt longer than usual, every bump and turn a small challenge for Winter's bruised and battered body. When they finally pulled into the apartment complex, Wyatt parked as close to the entrance as possible. River hopped out quickly, opening the back door for Winter.

"Alright, let's get you inside," River said, his tone light but firm.

With Ryan's support, Winter carefully maneuvered out of the car. Wyatt joined them, his presence a steadying force. Together, they made their way up to the apartment, Ryan taking extra care with every step to ensure Winter's comfort.

Once inside, Ryan guided Winter to the sofa, arranging the pillows to provide maximum support. "Here, lie back and relax," Ryan instructed, draping a soft blanket over Winter. "Comfortable?"

Winter nodded, a small smile playing on his lips. "Yeah, thanks. This feels so much better."

River and Wyatt headed to the kitchen, the sounds of pots and pans clattering mingling with the low hum of conversation. The familiar, comforting noises of home.

Ryan sat beside Winter, his hand resting gently on his boyfriend's shoulder. "You sure you're okay? If you need anything, just let me know."

Winter looked into Ryan's eyes, finding reassurance and warmth there. "I'm okay, really. Just...tired. And grateful. For you, for all of this."

Ryan smiled, leaning in to press a gentle kiss to Winter's forehead. "We're in this together. All of us. And you're gonna be just fine."

As the aroma of cooking filled the apartment, Winter allowed himself to relax, feeling safe and loved. It was a stark contrast to the pain and fear he'd endured in the hospital. Here, surrounded by friends who were more like family, he felt a sense of peace and healing.

Dinner was a quiet, comforting affair. Wyatt and River had prepared a simple meal, but it was made with care and love. They brought plates to the living room, not wanting Winter to move more than necessary.

As they ate, the conversation flowed easily, filled with laughter and shared memories. It was moments like these that reminded Winter why he fought so hard to recover. These were the moments worth living for.

After dinner, Wyatt and River cleaned up while Ryan stayed with Winter, keeping him company and making sure he was comfortable. They talked about everything and nothing, the easy camaraderie between them a balm for Winter's weary soul.

As the evening wore on, Ryan could see the exhaustion creeping back into Winter's eyes. "Let's get you to bed," he suggested softly. "You need to rest."

Winter nodded, too tired to protest. With Ryan's help, he made his way to the bedroom. Ryan had prepared the space carefully, ensuring everything was within easy reach and that Winter would be comfortable.

"Here we go," Ryan said, helping Winter lie down and arranging the pillows. "Comfy?"

Ryan sat down next to him, close enough to offer support but mindful of Winter's injuries. "I'm just glad you're home," Ryan admitted, his voice barely above a whisper. I was so scared when I got the call about the accident. I didn't know what I'd do if I lost you."

Winter's eyes softened, and he reached out to touch Ryan's hand. "You won't lose me, Ryan. I'm right here, and I'm not going anywhere."

Ryan squeezed his hand, the warmth of Winter's touch providing reassurance.

Laying Winter down on the bed, Ryan made sure he was supported by pillows and covered with a warm blanket. He then laid down next to him, resting his head on Winter's chest. The rhythmic beat of Winter's heart was a comforting sound, lulling Ryan into a state of peace.

"How are you feeling?" Ryan asked softly, his breath warm against Winter's skin.

"Tired," Winter admitted. "But happy. I missed this."

"Me too," Ryan said, his voice a mere whisper. "I'm so glad you're home."

Winter ran his fingers through Ryan's hair, a gentle smile playing on his lips.

The steady rhythm of Winter's heartbeat was a soothing lullaby, a reminder of the strength and resilience that lay within the man he loved.

"I love you," Ryan whispered, his voice barely audible as they both drifted into a peaceful sleep.
