12. Disappointment Is When You Get Ditched

If there was one thing Evie was made for, it was to be famous. She has all the people skills, the charm, and the stunning good looks to go with it. So, when she and the girls, minus Caitlynn (she's like a damn drill sergeant, god) got back to the Palm Woods, her first stop was the pool.

Evie lays back on a pool chair, sunglasses over her eyes, surveying the pool. There were three girls hanging out at a table to her right, a guy playing the guitar for a group of kids to her left, and a guy applying sunscreen while staring incredibly obviously at her two chairs over.

Evie lifts heer sunglasses and bats her eyelashes at him. "How's it goin'?"

He grins at her charmingly, taking off his own sunglasses. "The names James, James Dimond. I'm in a band."

Evie giggles. "Oh really? Me too."

James blinks, clearly not expecting that. "Oh, cool. Are you a singer?"

Evie nods, sitting up. "Yup, and I'm pretty new to town, would you mind introducing me to a few people?"

James nods and hops to his feet. "Absolutely, right this way," He says as he leads her around the pool.

One pretty boy down, a pool full of people to go.

If there's one thing you can count on the drummer of the Sirens to do, it's practice.

Addy doesn't like Rocque Records, and it's not just because they stole one of her best friends from her. The colors were too bright, it was too quiet - even when she slammed on her drums as loudly as she could - and there was always the possibility of someone walking in on her practicing and talking to her.

A major reason Addy played drums was because it added distance between her and anyone in front of the drums. It made her feel safe - plus, she could use the sticks as a weapon if anyone came at her.

She may have called Caitlynn paranoid, but that was her, really.

So, when they all left Caitlynn to cool off back at the studio, Addy just went back to the apartment to practice on her drum kit. It was safe there, at least.

She knew she should be out there making new friends, but the other girls would make friends and she could meet them later. It was a foolproof plan, or at least it had been for all of their lives so far.

Avery's irritated, anyone could tell just by her nails. She had painted them the week before and the paint was chipped to hell and the nail down to the nubs from her constant attention.

Avery loves Caitlynn, she loves the band, and she loves to play, but from 9 am to 5 pm? That's eight hours! A full work day. Avery can't handle eight hours of constant practice, she didn't understand anyone who could. Cait didn't even schedule them a lunch break!

After Evie splits for the pool and Addy for their apartment, Avery goes to explore. She finds a small courtyard behind the building, a park down the street, and an arcade down the hall from the pool.

Three guesses as to where she spent the rest of the day.

...anyway, Avery decides she was going to blast the high score out of the water on the old guitar hero machine in the middle of the arcade.

She feels sorry for "Katie" who held the top score because it was going down.

"I actually can't believe them!" Caitlynn shouts as she reaches the Palm Woods.
