Ep. 2
5. School Work Still Exists, Guys
Incessant knocking at her apartment door was never a very pleasant way to wake up.
Groaning, Caitlynn stumbles out of bed and trips her way out of her blankets until she reaches the front door.
She yanks it open and glowers at the people who dare disturb her.
"He--yee," The boys greet, taking a step back after seeing the state Caitlynn was in.
"Hey, we were on our way to the pool," Kendall says unsurely.
"We wanted to know if you wanted to come with?" Logan asks. Caitlynn pulls her phone out of her pajama pocket to check the time.
12:45
"Sure," Caitlynn slams the door. Less than a minute later, she opens it back up, swim bag in her hand and sunglasses perched on her head.
"Let's go," Caitlynn smiles at them as she shuts and locks her door.
"That was fast," James says as they approach the elevator. Caitlynn shrugs with an easy smile.
"You get used to quick changes after doing a few concerts with only a minute to change in between."
"What about the make-up? Isn't that different with every look?" He questions. Caitlynn raises an eyebrow at him.
"For most performers, yeah, but at Rocque Records we try to condense the most music as possible in the amount of time that we're given, so that means quick changes and a natural look."
She gives James a curious look. "Why do you know that, though?"
James shrugs nonchalantly. "My mom owns a cosmetics company."
Caitlynn looks at him, impressed. "Cool."
--
Caitlynn immediately snags a lounge inflatable that she drops into the pool, relaxing on it.
James follows suit and the two of them relax on the inflatables in silence. This lasts for a few minutes before the rest of BTR decides they're feeling left out.
"Free hair gel!" Carlos yells. James quickly scrambles to get off of the inflatable and ends up flipping over both. Caitlynn sputters as she wipes water from her eyes.
"Ok, very funny, now where's the free hair gel!" James yells. Caitlynn giggles and places her sunglasses back on her face.
"Dude, seriously?"
"What?" James asks. Still giggling, Caitlynn makes her way out of the pool and Logan helps her out.
"Sorry about that, we just wanted to mess with James," He apologizes, helping her get the inflatable out of the pool.
"No, it's totally cool. I love chaos, it's fun to be around." Caitlynn reassures.
The rest of the boys kick back on the lounge chairs, and Caitlynn grabs a few towels. When she comes back, towel draped over her head, Kelly arrives.
"Ok, guys, dry off and get dressed. Gustavo wants you at the studio."
They all sit up and look at each other in excitement. Caitlynn internally cringes, they were about to get their dreams crushed.
"What does the great Gustavo Rocque have in store for us today?" Kendall asks.
"Harmonies?" Logan suggests hopefully.
"Breaking down some sweet new moves?" Carlos performs a quick move.
Caitlynn chucks a towel at James that he catches with his face.
