Ep. 1
1. Discovery is the First Step on the Road to Fame
Caitlynn sighs, clutching a coffee cup between her cold hands.
"I hate winter in the midwest," She pouts. Kelly chuckles, checking something in her folder.
The limo stops and Caitlynn exits first, looking around at everyone crowding the sidelines.
"But I do love the fans!" She smiles, waving at a few people, who then scream at being acknowledged.
"Where am I and why am I freezing?" She hears Gustavo complain to Kelly, walking ahead. Caitlynn rolls her eyes as she continues to wave at fans.
"You're in Minnesota," Kelly answers. At the same time, Caitlynn and Gustavo both yell, "What's up Minnesota!"
Only then Gustavo says in a lower voice, "I hate all of them."
"Yeah, I know." Kelly sighs.
"And the state! For freezing my latte," Gustavo turns over his cup in Kelly's hand, dumping out a frozen coffee. Caitlynn rushes forward and scoops it back into the cup.
"That's cuz it's not a latte, it's a frozen coffee. That I ordered. " She rolls her eyes as she bites into it.
"It's our last stop, so just focus and try not to make anybody cry."
"Somewhere out here is your next big star," Caitlynn reassures, waving one last time at the fans before entering the theatre. She turns away from the crowd and thanks the security guards.
As she hears Gustavo continue to yell about fire, she groans. "I need ice. Or gum." She turns to someone at the front desk, "do you have any gum?"
The woman nods and hands her a full pack. "Oh, uh, thanks. " She pulls out a piece and hands back the pack, but the woman shakes her head.
"No, please, take it!"
Caitlynn smiles and thanks her again, pocketing the gum.
She walks through the doors into the main theatre and sits down next to Kelly at the table set up in front of the audience seats.
"Ok, let's get started."
--
After sitting through hundreds of potentials, and hours of Gustavo yelling, it was nearing 5.
"I'm gonna go up front, see if there's any last minute potentials," Caitlynn sighs. She walks out the double doors as a blonde girl is walking in. She smiles at her before moving over to the podium where a bored looking employee was standing.
"Hey, take a break, I got this."
They nod and leave. Caitlynn huffs out a breath and takes out her phone. Seconds later, a very out of breath boy runs up to the podium.
"Hey, I'm James Diamond and I wanna be famous," he rushes out before singing a few notes.
Caitlynn slaps a sticker with a 3 digit number on it to his chest and hands him a clipboard.
"Hey James, I'm Lynn, fill out the form and come in when your number is called." James' eyes widen, and three boys trail in behind him look at her, shocked.
" I love your music!" He says, taking the clipboard. She smiles and winks, "I'm sure I'll love yours, too."
He walks over to the boys and they congratulate him while stealing glances back at her.
Suddenly the blonde girl from before comes out of the main theatre, screaming and being hauled by three security guards.
"I'm a star! I'm a star! I'm gonna be the next Gwen Stefani!" As she passes the group, she says, "Oh, hey guys!"
