Was I a little too irrational before?

Let me rephrase that—was I too irrational?

We were halfway through the second movie that Dani had chosen when I couldn't help but feel guilty seeing Haerin sitting so silently next to Hyein on the other end.

Did I let myself get so carried away by my feelings that I chose to ignore what she had to say or even felt?

To think about it, I never even considered what she had to say...

"I'll go get some water," Haerin suddenly got up from the bed.

Hyein pouted and said, "Eh? In the middle of the good part, unnie?"

Everyone laughed. "Go on, continue the movie, I'll be back before you know it," Haerin said.

Dani said, "Are you sure? We can wait for you."

"I am," Haerin answered with a comforting nod before leaving.

Hanni exclaimed, "If you say so!" and turned the movie back on.

I bit my lip after giving it much thought.

As much as possible, I wanted to resolve things with Haerin now.

I know I said that we would in the near future, but the guilt that's been eating me up since earlier was too much to bear.

Maybe we should clear some things up if I'm unable to resolve this.

It would be too bad for both of us if we prolonged this issue, yeah? The others might get involved as well if this drags on.

But mostly, I wanted to make up with her—if she was mad at me.

I wanted to say sorry.

For everything.

"Let me use the restroom for a moment," I said as I got up.

"Wha- you too?"

Hanni grumbled, "Yeah no, we ain't gonna wait for you," and I shot her a cold look.

"Pfft- watch all you want," I snickered before leaving the room.

Oh, I hope they didn't get suspicious.

Haerin did mention that she was going to drink some water, so I walked downstairs to see if she was there when I heard the plates clanking.

As I hobbled downstairs, I noticed her leaning over the counter, holding a glass of water.

"Ehem," I said, clearing my voice.

She seemed to be in deep thought and the noise I made must've snapped her out of her reverie.

There, by the kitchen door, she noticed me and her eyes softened. With a sigh and a palm on her chest, she said, "I thought you were someone else."

I said, "Sorry," and went to grab a glass of water while going over.

I know I said I was heading to the restroom, but I needed a reason to speak with her.

I could feel her eyes following every step I took as I got water.

I shut the refrigerator and quickly downed the glass of water, immediately wiping my lips before turning to face her again.

"About earlier-"

I started.

"You know...I hate you,"
