==============
Before I had to go, we spent an hour at the store.
I had the tightest parents out of all the friends in the circle; to meet their expectations, I had to be home before them, the house had to be spotless before they came, I had to maintain straight 9s, be an honor student, and fulfill a host of other requirements.
However, I'm not whining—in fact, I'm grateful for the way they are.
Because I wouldn't be who I am now if it weren't for their strict personalities.
Besides, they're kind and warm, and they're funny too!
The sole drawback?
I can't tell them things.
I can't tell them how my day has been, what I am feeling, what I want, what happened to me, what I'm curious about, and all that.
Understanding that they were already bothered by work, I didn't want to disturb them even more.
I'd grown scared of them.
I'd developed a huge respect for them.
I'd closed myself around them.
But I love them.
Hanni wailed, "What~? Already??"
Dani pouted at my response, "I'm sorry. You know what my parents are like,"
She sighed and hugged me, saying, "Well, do take care, Minji."
Haerin said, "I'll go with you then," and she grabbed her bag.
I lifted my eyebrows and gave her a look. I shook my hands and said, "There's no need, I can go by myself."
"And what? Hear nothing from you again tomorrow? No way. Besides, Mom and Dad are probably looking for me too," she said, leaving the place before I could say anything more.
I exhaled. I answered, "Yeah, I'll say goodbye on her behalf," glancing at the other two, who appeared unfazed.
Dani rolled her eyes and said, "Pfft—We've been friends for five years—I've pretty much gotten used to it."
Hanni gave a nod and shoved me aside, saying, "Just go, you fool, don't make her wait."
"Are you guys sure?"
"Uhuh,"
"Yep,"
I said, "Alright then. Bye guys, I'll see you tomorrow," and I gave them a hug before going outside to Haerin.
I held out my hand to her and said, "Let's go?"
Haerin nodded, entwining mine with hers.
I asked, gesturing to the right side of the convenience shop, "Your home's that way, right?"
She said, "Yeah," and we moved in that direction.
Haerin tilted her head and asked, "How about you? Isn't your house the other way?" pointing to the other side of the street.
"Nope,"
"But you always go home with Hanni and her house's that way,"
"I only tag along with her to talk more after classes,"
Lying a bit wouldn't harm.
"Oh, so you like spending more time with her than with me?"
"What? Of course not,"
"Then, starting tomorrow, you're coming home with me,"
"Eh? To your house?"
"No—you'll walk with me,"

FanfictionYeah, Minji's definitely convinced she's straight, even so when she is clearly head over heels for Haerin, a classmate and a friend who's too damn dangerous for her and her poor heart (she def ain't straight).
