"So...why are we here, again?" I tiptoed, rocking my body back and forth.

How come I feel so bashful?

God, I'm blushing already.

Haerin deadpanned, whisking her hands to dry. "We're here to watch me wash my hands," she said.

I pursed my lips, nodding.

I leaned against the door.

I wondered, "What should I eat for lunch?" as I looked up at the ceiling.

I mumbled—loud enough for her to hear.

Abruptly, I heard someone stomp next to me. Glancing to my side, I saw Haerin with arms crossed.

With her eyes rolling, she questioned, "You're seriously thinking about that now?"

I giggled. She looks cute.

With a sneer, Haerin turned to leave me in the restroom.

"Haerin-ah! Wait up!"

As soon as Haerin and I returned, Hanni dragged me to the corner of the classroom and said, "You asshole! You better start speaking now—what's going on between you and Haerin?? Why am I not getting any progress feedback from you???"

I shrugged and said, "Uh...you're not my mom?"

"Jokes on you, I am your mother now so you better start telling me shit this moment!"

"Well..." I finally said.

What should I say to her? How should I break the news to her?

"Well...?" She raised her eyebrows—probably eager to know what's between Haerin and me or who we are to each other at all.

But I don't know if I'm in the position to tell her that. What am I going to tell Hanni?

That we're in the process? Like- what the hell even is that?

Maybe talking stage?

I mean- are we really in that stage already? Yet?

Erm...mutual understanding stage? 'Cause we acknowledge each other's feelings?

We're certainly not girlfriends, however—we agreed to take things slow.

I sighed, leaning against the wall.

"What?" Hanni raised her eyebrows.

"It's...I guess it's complicated? We're complicated?" I shrugged.

Hanni looked at me incredulously.

"Haerin looked like how a jealous girlfriend would! There has to be some explanation behind that...not 'We're complicated' type of shit." She furrowed her eyebrows.

I mean- I don't know what to call our relationship so that's the best I could say.

"Then it's between friends and talking stage, certainly," I said.

She sighed and massaged her forehead.

"You seem stressed,"

"Who wouldn't be with you two??"

I pursed my lips. "I know you care about me, Hanni. I know you, more than anyone inside this room, want Haerin and me to get some action-"

"Not that type of action," she pointed out and I nodded, "I know".
