                         _______________

Soojin stepped into the luxurious restaurant, feeling slightly nervous yet curious about her blind date. Her best friend Taehyung had convinced her to give it a try, assuring her that Mr. Jeon's son was a decent match. As she walked up to the reception, she asked for the reserved table.

"Right this way, miss," the staff' said, leading her through the elegantly decorated room.

Soojin followed, scanning the room until her eyes landed on a well-dressed man sitting at a table in the corner. From behind, he looked impressively composed. She couldn't help but think, *Well, at least he's got a good posture. Let's see if the face matches.*

As she approached the table, the man turned around. Soojin's heart skipped a beat. She recognized that face instantly. It was Jungkook, her high school bully, the one who had made her teenage years a nightmare.

"Wait, you?" she blurted out, unable to hide her shock. "Are you the blind date? I mean, are you Mr. Jeon's son?"

Jungkook looked equally surprised, though he quickly masked it with a smirk. "Oh my god, I didn't expect you to be Min Soojin. Well, yes, I'm the blind date, and I'm surprised you're my blind date. Have a seat; let's have a conversation."

Soojin sat down, trying to maintain her composure. Jungkook's piercing gaze was as intimidating as she remembered.

"So, Min Soojin," Jungkook began, breaking the silence, "do you still remember me?"

Soojin felt a pang of old trauma but forced herself to respond strongly. "Oh, yeah. I would have almost forgotten you if we didn't meet now."

Jungkook chuckled, a cold, mocking sound. "I find that hard to believe. After all, we had such memorable times."

Soojin narrowed her eyes. "Memorable? If by memorable you mean tormenting me, then sure."

Jungkook's expression turned serious. "People change, Soojin. Perhaps you'll find I'm not the same person I was back then."

Soojin arched an eyebrow. "Is that so? And what about you? Do you remember what you did to me?"

Jungkook leaned back, studying her. "I remember enough. But let's not dwell on the past. Tell me about your job. You're a detective now, right?"

Soojin nodded, eager to steer the conversation away from her high school years. "Yes, I'm a detective. I work on various cases, some of which might even involve people like you."

Jungkook's eyes glinted with amusement. "People like me?"

"Rich and influential," Soojin replied, her tone laced with sarcasm.

Jungkook leaned forward, his gaze intent. "I see. And what kind of cases are you working on now?"

Soojin hesitated, sensing a trap. "Just the usual. Theft, fraud, sometimes more serious crimes."

Jungkook's smile didn't reach his eyes. "Sounds thrilling. As for me, I'm sure you know I'm involved in my father's business. It keeps me busy."

"Right," Soojin said, not entirely convinced. "Business. I'm sure it does."

The air between them crackled with unresolved tension and unspoken words. Despite her resolve, Soojin couldn't shake off the feeling of unease. This was not the blind date she had imagined, and she had a feeling it was only the beginning of a complicated entanglement.

---

After an awkward dinner filled with tension, Soojin and Jungkook stood outside the restaurant. The night air was cool, and Soojin felt relieved that the evening was over.
