Taraji
I slipped on the dress I chose to wear for the parade. I ended up giving Fantasia one of my outfits yesterday after she had no luck finding one of her own. We made plans to go eat and walk around shops until the parade started.
I put away my clothes and made my bed before heading to the balcony. The sun beamed brightly, allowing for great pictures. I snapped a few and sent them to Fantasia to let her know that I was ready. I got a response back that she would be here shortly, so now I had to wait.
I felt terrible yesterday after we found out the news of Colton's mother passing. Although Fantasia wasn't married into the family yet, that was still her family. She still talked about Colton's mother as if she were her in law. I know it isn't fun to think about parts of your family dying. I'm still checking my phone to find the best flights to get back home. Once I find a good one, I'm taking Fantasia and getting the hell out of here. We've completely overstayed, and It's too risky to try and stick it out the entire time we're here.
I know also that things back home are shaky right now, but at least we'll be home instead of somewhere abroad where things can get even worse before they get better for us. No amount of money or power will ever get me to go on a trip like this again. I'm still angry that I changed my mind in the first place and decided to still come.
I've offered multiple times to allow Tasia to come stay at my place when we get back. I know she won't feel safe in a place alone without Colton or someone else with her. I absolutely have enough space to keep her comfortable in my place. We have yet to have a real conversation about what we will look like back home. We've definitely mentioned what will happen to us, but that's it, nothing more than a mention.
My phone buzzed in my hand, and I read the message that appeared on it.
Fantasia: I'm here
I left my room to go open the door for her. She greeted me with a hug, and I walked her back to the room. "You smell good, Raji." She complimented me. The way my dress sat on her body made me feel like it shouldn't have been mine to begin with. It was slightly similar to the one I was wearing, but they were different.
"Thank you, baby. You look good in this." She smiled and I grabbed her hand. She spun around and posed. I put my phone in front of her and pretended I was a photographer taking her pictures. She kept flashing me her big smile and we laughed at each other's silliness. "How do you think today will go?" I asked her.
"I don't know. I just hope we can get through today's festivities without any scares or freak outs." She stopped talking and just stared for a while. I could tell she was thinking about something major. I've noticed that any time she gets freaked out, she starts imagining the worst possible scenario. I try my hardest to bring her out of it, but I usually end up getting nothing out of her, or something that neither of us really want to hear. I stepped beside her and walked us to the chairs.
