𝐋𝐀𝐔𝐆𝐇𝐓𝐄𝐑 was the only thing heard in the living room of Grandma and Grandpa Mills Encino Hills home as Ali and Sharon sat on the couch drinking a cup of tea when they heard the door open. Lorraine walked through the front door and set her shopping bags down.
"I'm home! Oh! You will not believe the mob at the Century City Mall I have never seen Nordstrom's so packed. But I got all my shopping done, and I managed to snag the last three iPads for the kids. I know, I know, you and Richard don't want me spoiling them, but what can I say, they are my grandchildren. Oh, honey, it's so good to have you home again." Grandma Mills said
Ali smiled as she glanced at her sister in law, then back at her mother. "Oh, it's good to be back mom."
"I mean, don't get me wrong, Colorado is beautiful, but you can't beat this weather." Grandma Mills said
"Well, I don't know. I love the snow." Ali smiled. "But California will always be my home."
"Well, at least we can hope to see you at the Christmas party tomorrow night?" Grandma Mills said
"Yes, of course. I can't wait." Ali smiled
"So have you had a chance to get with any of the old gang since you've been back?" Grandma Mills asked
"Not yet." Ali smiled. "But you don't have to worry about me, I have some plans."
"Well, I have to finish wrapping my gifts, you girls enjoy your tea." Grandma Mills smiled, then walked upstairs
"Setting her coffee cup down, Sharon turned to her sister in-law. "Now, what plans are you referring to?"
"Well, Johnny, messaged me out of the blue, and we've been talking back in forth. I messaged him this morning letting him know I was back home, and asked if he wanted to get lunch tomorrow." Ali said
"I think that's a good idea." Sharon smiled.
"Yeah, I mean, we never got closure, and maybe after all these years, we can finally get it." Ali said. "At least if he tries anything, I can punch him again, like I did years ago."
"Wait a second, you punched him?" Sharon asked as she set her tea cup down on the table. "Why am I just hearing about this now? I've got to hear this story."
"Oh I'll happily tell it. Well Johnny and I had been broken up for months, I had a date with Daniel that night, and mom insisted on the two of us dancing. Anyway, Johnny sees Daniel sneaking in through the kitchen and he forced a kiss on me." Ali said
