The library

"Hey Violet! Come here!" Juliet called to me from across the library. I looked around for a second, not finding her. "Violet!" She said even louder. The librarian shot her a dirty look from over at her desk. My eyes landed on her. She lay comfortably across one of the big couches, feet up on one of the arm rests, a magazine in her hands. I quickly made my way over to her, hoping this would cease her unnecessary shouting. When she noticed my presence next to the couch, she sat up, and patted the spot next to her. "Sit, sit!" She said, practically vibrating in her seat. She thrust the magazine in front of me and pointed excitedly. "Look! It's Liam Hemsworth! Isn't he gorgeous?" She asked, sighing wistfully. To be honest, I didn't find him that good looking. I didn't really find any guys good looking these days. When I was little, I would've found stars like Liam the cutest thing in the world. But now, I just didn't see what Juliet did in men. "Isn't he?" Juliet pressed. Not wanting to disagree, or bring up anything to remind her of last night, I nodded. "Yeah. I love his hair in that picture. It looks really..nice." Juliet turned and looked at me for the first time since I had sat down. "Nice? Are you kidding me? It's fucking hot!"

"If you could watch your language please young lady, that would be most preferable." The librarian said from behind us. We turned around. She stood behind the couch, frowning down at us. Juliet nodded, pretending to look ashamed of her actions. "Of course. So sorry ma'am." She said in her most obnoxious I-don't-give-a-damn, voice. The librarian glared furiously at her, turned on her heel, and walked back to her desk. Juliet snorted adorably, barely able to contain her laughter. "Oh god" She said, wiping away tears. "What an absolute bitch" She muttered, still giggling.

"Juliet!" I hissed. "Don't say that so loud. What if we get kicked out? Or worse. Suspended." Juliet shot me a look, and rolled her eyes. "Whatever Hermione Granger." I sighed, annoyed. Juliet was always like this. Determined to be rebellious, extremely annoying, but hot as hell. And that's saying something. Because I've heard hell is a pretty hot place.

"Hurry up Violet! You're so slow!" Juliet called from the top of the hill. I panted, out of breath, and completely exhausted. And I was only half way up. After a minute or two, I finally joined Juliet at the top. I laid down on my back and stared at the sky for a few minutes. The sun was just beginning to set, and the sky was a beautiful combination of reds, oranges, and light pinks. Suddenly, Juliet was next to me, lying on her stomach. She leaned in real close next to me and whispered "You know, as fun as this picnic is, we could be having some real fun." Her breath was sweet and warm, as it tickled the inside of my ear. Suddenly, she rolled on top of me, and pressed her lips to mine. Soft. Soft was all I could say to describe her lips. Her fingers trailed their way to the hem of my shirt. I pulled back. "Juliet! Don't! What if someone sees us? We're outside!" She just smiled. "No one's gonna see us Violet. We'll be fine." I wanted to argue, but she began to kiss me again, and all the words I had ready to say, were lost.

I sat up fast. Dreaming again. Why did I dream of her like this? She's just my friend. Normal people don't think about their friends like that. But was I normal? I wondered. No. I sighed, and fell back against my pillows. Why couldn't I just like guys? Juliet could. Most of the girls in my grade could. I knew there was nothing wrong with being a lesbian, or bisexual or whatever. But, it would just be simpler if I wasn't. Simpler if I wasn't falling in love with my best friend.
