Chapter Thirteen: Something More Important Than Life

Despite Kyogai's endless room rotating hampering her Nezuko urged herself to keep fighting...she can't lose not now!...not when she has so much to fight and live for!.

Back with Zenitsu and Shoichi

The two continued to wander the halls searching for an exit. Zenitsu was worried about Tanjiro and Nezuko's safety and about the creepy sound that continuously echoed throughout the mansion. Shoichi noticed that they have been seemingly walking around in circles. Zenitsu concord with that statement. As they were looking around for a door the hallway flipped forward, causing the two to fall down and eventually land back outside through an open window.

Kyogai continued his assault, manipulating the room to disorient his adversary and sending waves of slashes in a attempt to kill her. Nezuko was still thinking of a plan to kill Kyogai and then the room turned forward leaving her hanging by a light fixture and vulnerable to the slashes till she dodged them in time. Kyogai irritated by her refusal to die repeatedly attempts to wear her down, still wanting to devour his target, but that didn't work wich made Kyogai freak out....this girl was able to heal all the wounds that he had inflected on her almost instantly and her stamina was infinite, he couldn't wear her out no matter how hard he tried.....what ever that girl was she was definitely not a normal human?!.

'Do you have a name?' Nezuko ask her opponent. The demon said that his name is Kyogai.

'I will not surrender Kiyoshi to you Kyogai!' Nezuko called, she made it clear that she will not surrender to child to the demon. Nezuko's unwillingness to quit remanded Kyogai of a moment in his past when someone told him to give up on his art and to
quit. This memory filled Kyogai with rage and made him even more determined to reclaim his place in the twelve kizuke. Kyogai became even more aggressive.....speeding up the rate of his attacks, spinning the room entirely and causing numerous slashes to rip through. In his anger Kyogai remembered when a musician in his past had denounce his songwriting as boring and uncultured. The musician had insulted his hobby as a waste of pens and paper and cruelly mocked him for always being a shut-in indoors while playing his tsuzumis. Kyogai who was hiding the fact that he was already a demon unleashed a slash from his central tsuzumi in retaliation, killing his tormentor and slashing him to pieces.

With the painful memory fresh in his mind, the former kizuke unleashed rapid drumming and began playing his tsuzumis faster than ever before! and sending the room rotating out of control!. Nezuko wasn't even able to land down as the rooms gravity rapidly shifted, dizzying her and then her situation became even more dire as the claw attack of Kyogai's tsuzumi now gained five slashes, then suddenly as the drumming slowed down. Nezuko landed gently on the floor. This was her chance! Nezuko rushed at Kyogai!. Utilizing shallow breaths to stance up as the room shifts. Nezuko could sense the calw attack coming,  making it easy for her to avoid the slashes with little movement, shocking Kyogai. Preparing for a final stand. Nezuko breathed in.

'Total concentration breathing: Water breathing ninth form: splashing water flow, trublulent' Nezuko said in her mind as she closed the distance as the room shifted and Kyogai was unable to retaliate. Finally acknowledging his blood demon art as incredible. Nezuko sensed the opening thread and beheaded Kyogai successfully.

As Nezuko was collecting Kyogai's blood sample the demon asked through his severed head if she meant her words regarding his blood demon art.

'Your drumming and blood demon art were incredible but i can't forgive you for killing ' Nezuko said, the demon understood her not forgiving him. Nezuko then proceeded to collect a sample of Kyogai's blood using a special device that Yushiro had designed and gave the sample to Tamayo's cat who then walked away and disappeared.

As Kyogai was dying, he reminisced on how his songwriting was insulted in the past but now he realized that it was all not true thanks to Nezuko's acknowledgement.....she had respected his art and hard work and avoided stepping on his writing during their battle and she even prasad and acknowledged his drumming and blood demon art. As the demon slayer prayed for his soul to rest in peace and departed, the former kizuke shed tears as his blood demon art and his tsuzumi playing have finally been acknowledged and recognized before fading into ashes.

Nezuko had found the children in a new room. Nezuko got smacked in the forehead by a heavy book as the children were afraid and Teruko started throwing objects at her in suprise. As the three made their way outside the mansion, Nezuko suddenly heard the sound of fighting outside the mansion!.....she quickly ran outside and saw her elder brother Tanjiro fighting a guy in a boar mask!.

Zenitsu and Shoichi were relatively unscathed after their fall from the mansion, their were no injuries aside from a gash on Zenitsu's head wich he landed on.

'Zenitsu....Shoichi!!!!' Tanjiro yelled as he ran towards them, Zenitsu was so relieved to finally be reunited with Tanjiro and Tanjiro was glad that Zenitsu and Shoichi were all right, but their happy reunion was Interrupted when they heard someone yelling

'Coming through!' from inside the mansion and then the boar headed slayer came bursting through the door.

'Have you been dropped on your head?!' Tanjiro thought as he saw the stranger's odd behavior....what a weirdo.

Zenitsu recognized that stranger as one of the survivors of final selection and he was the first one to enter and leave the mountain before everyone.

'It's you the slayer that cleared the mountain!....my name is Inosuke Hashibira and i challeng you to a battle!!!!' Inosuke yelled.

'I can't accept your challeng it's forbidden for demon slayers to raise their sowrds against each other ' Tanjiro explained calmly but that didn't deter Inosuke who began attacking Tanjiro with all his might.....the two slayers were in an epic clash....Tanjiro was was on the defensive, he was holding back and restraining himself for he didn't want to harm Inosuke.

'Stay down if i wanted it you'd be dead already!' Tanjiro said in his most intimidating voice but Inosuke just laughed and continued to fight him....all of Tanjiro's attempts to reason with the pig head had fallen on deaf ears....so Tanjiro was forced to stop Inosuke with a head butt.....and it worked Inosuke was knocked out cold and down for the count......Nezuko, Zenitsu, Kiyoshi, Shoichi and Teruko were all shocked by what they just witnessed, and Zenitsu became afraid. Tanjiro reassured everyone that Inosuke will be fine and wake up soon and told them not to worry....Tanjiro took off his haori to use as a pillow to rest Inosuke's head on and he picked up Inosuke's swords and put them right next to him and this is when Tanjiro finally got a good look at Inosuke's face and he was quite shocked to see that behind the boar mask Inosuke had a very feminine and androgynous face...now Tanjiro also looked a little androgynous....it was a triat that was inherited in his family....his father and uncle both looked that way a little but Inosuke looked even more androgynous than him. Once Tanjiro overcame his initial shock he took of his yellow kimono and used it as a blanket to cover Inosuke and then left to give the deceased victims their burial.
