Selena thinks about my question for a moment, "Y/n..."

"Selena, please." I say quietly, "We can't keep letting Waller ruin lives the way she ruined ours."

They rub the back of their neck thoughtfully, "If I discover anything, I'll let you know, but I can't go against her. I won't risk everything I've built."

I sigh. Better than nothing I suppose.

"Let's go." I say, "We're done here."

"A draw then?" Selena gestures to the ring.

I nod, "For now."

I step out of the ring and look back at them, fixing their hair once again. A moment later they join me, and we walk back to the club. There's no sense in running this time. The nostalgia is gone now. We're in different worlds. I'm not free, but I'm out of the ring. Selena is still in it, facing whatever enemy she's presented with, trying to block out their faces.

"I'm keeping the suit." I say smugly.

They chuckle, "I thought you might."

"You kept it all these years?" I ask, "Why?"

Selena glances at me, but looks away just as quickly, "Don't ask stupid questions."

I scoff, but stay quiet. I'll never understand Selena, so what's the point in trying?

"Do you think Waller will hire you again?" I ask hopefully.

"I don't know. She likes to diversify the scum she works with." They say, "And if she finds out we're in contact, she'll never work with me again. But, I guess I have been pretty useful to her."

The walk back with Selena is otherwise uneventful. They don't have any useful information for me about Waller, despite all the prodding I do. Back at their club, Katana is waiting tentatively. I smile to herself as I watch her awkwardly reject a girl's advances. She catches my eye, glaring at me.

She storms up to us, "Where the fuck have you been?"

I smirk, "Out."

"What are you wearing?" Katana surveys me in my old suit.

"Don't worry about it." I brush it aside, "Anyway, Selena's a dead end. She doesn't know anything, but she's promised to help us if she gets the chance. If it won't ruin her new reputation, that is."

Katana runs a hand through her dark hand, "Great... what now?"

I wave to Selena as we head towards the door. She waves back, hands already wandering over a girl in a glittery blue outfit.

"Not sure..."

Selena's POV

I plop down at my desk, finally away from the busy nightlife. I enjoy it of course, but damn do I feel it at the end of the day. I'm still in my suit underneath my fur jacket. I glance in the mirror across from my desk, taking in my ragged appearance. The events of the neck are pretty evident. A bit of blood on my fur coat, lipstick on my neck from a girl I barely know, sweat dried on my forehead from my fight with y/n. I tap my fingers on the cold glass in my hand, remembering her. For a moment, I wish the lipstick on my neck was hers...

I shake my head, ridding myself of my thoughts. I must be more drunk than I thought. I'm debating whether or not I'm too tired for a shower, when I hear a beep from one of the devices at my desk. My stomach drops, a flutter of nerves in my stomach. Fuck. I almost forgot what day it was. I sit up straight, trying to look sort of composed, and hit accept on the incoming call.

Waller's face pops up, her usual stoic demeanor hiding whatever disapproving thoughts I'm sure she's having about me. She looks me up and down, and even though she's far away, I feel her scrutiny as if she's right in front of me. I take a deep breath, trying to look unaffected by her judgment.

I get straight to the point, "Ace came to the club tonight."

For once, Waller's calculated expression is replaced by a look of surprise, "Really? What for?"

"She's asking about you." I report, "She was digging around trying to find what it is I had transported for you."

"And?"

"She wants my help in taking you down."

Waller's lips curl up in a wicked smile, "Is that so?"

I nod, "I don't know why yet. It seems like more than just revenge. She's hiding something."

"What did you tell her?" Waller asked,

"I said I couldn't risk what I'm building here." I add, "But I told her I would help her if I could."

Waller smiles, "Very good. Keep her close, and keep an eye on her."

Waller must have sensed my hesitation, because she added, "Don't get caught up in the past now, Selena. Look around you. Look at everything you've built. One girl isn't worth risking it all. You could be great."

"I know." I nod in resignation, "She won't be a problem, I promise."

Waller asks for other reports, about the club, competitors, other threats to Gotham that have become regulars at my club. I give her a brief overview of the past week. Other than news about Ace, there hasn't been much commotion. She gives me a few tasks for the week, connections she wants me to make with other criminals. I've become her eyes in Gotham's underworld, and she wants to expand her sights.

Our meeting ends. I slump back in my seat the moment her face disappears, relieved that our conversation is over. I don't feel like sleeping anymore. I hit another button on my desk, calling my assistant. She asks what she can do in her business-like manner.

"Is that blonde still here?" I rub my temples, "Rin, I think?"

There's some shuffling, and I assume she's checking, "Yes ma'am, she's scheduled for another three hours."

"Send her to my office please."
