Chapter 6: The Sleepover Part 2

"Another round of pool?" SNT asked. "I would rather do something that.. everyone has an equal skill on." Rookie responded. "I'm fine with doing another round. I want to learn how to play better." Maria said. "I can teach you!" Gadget walked to Maria and started teaching her. "SNT." S turned her head towards Rookie. "I'm going to tell my brother the truth." SNT looked happy for him. "It's about time. Keeping this a secret in the first place was a terrible idea." "You're right. I'm still going to need your help to tell him." SNT smiled. "Whenever you're going to tell him just let me know." "I want to enjoy the sleepover first. I'll let him know tomorrow morning." Gadget and Maria came up to them. "We should go upstairs now. I didn't set up the light switch properly and it's getting dark." Gadget said. They all went upstairs. When Rookie looked at the window this time he saw nothing. He did feel like he was being watched. "Something wrong?" SNT asked looking worried. "I'll tell you when we're alone." "Hey Giz can you get the mail. I got a package that's suppose to be delivered today." Gadget asked. "Right. I forgot I was going to check the mail today." Rookie mumbled. "Okay."
Rookie went to check the mail. He walked to the mail box. He opened it before hearing something. He turned around and saw Infinite. He then looked behind him. "Enjoying your s- what? What are you looking at?" Infinite turned around and saw Shadow. "It seems like I'm interrupting your poor excuse of an intimation tactic. Get out of my sight." Infinite teleported away. Shadow stared at Rookie. He examined him looking a little confused. "You look like Gadget, but you're slightly off." He then hit Rookie in the head hard. "Ow!" "You're not an illusion." Rookie rubbed his head. "No! I'm his twin brother!" "That explains it." Shadow handed Rookie a package. "This is for him. How's Maria?" "She's enjoying the sleepover." Shadow nodded his head. "Shadow! we're on a tight schedule we gotta go!" Rookie turned to see who said that. He finally noticed Rouge and Omega were parked in front of his house. Omega was a car, which confused Rookie. Shadow was thinking for a bit. "You guys go on without me. Maria did want me to join her for this." Rouge shrugged her shoulders. "Come on Omega, we have to deliver the rest of these." Rouge and Omega drove off. "You're a mailman?" Rookie asked. Shadow sighed. "Me, Rouge and Omega have to pay for our.. damages in the town hall." Shadow had a small brown sash, similar to Rookie's. "Don't get use to this look. And DON'T tell Maria." Rookie shook his head. He took the package and went inside with Shadow.
"Shadow!" Maria said excitedly. "I thought you couldn't make it." "I can now." Gadget look at what Shadow was wearing. "What's with the sash? It looks like mine." Everyone looked to see it did. "I needed it to hold important stuff that I can't tell you." "What's in the box?" SNT asked Rookie. Rookie gave the box to Gadget and Gadget opened it. "It's Uno. Bought it just for this occasion." "Let's play." SNT said. "I'll shuffle the cards." Shadow grabbed the box and started to shuffle them. Maria looked a bit nervous. "I don't think we should play. Things could get heated. Did you all hear about what happened at town hall 3 days ago?" "What happened?" SNT asked. "Nothing!" Shadow blurted. He continued shuffling the cards. Rookie glared at Shadow. Shadow looked back. "I won't do anything rash if I lose." Everyone got their cards.
They played a couple of rounds. SNT had Uno. Shadow was pulling cards. "Damn, Damn, Damn, Damn, Damn." While Shadow was pulling his cards, Rookie looked at his cards. He had a +4, a wild card, and a blue 8. He could +4 SNT to prevent her from winning. But the game has been going on for 3 hours. He just wanted it to end so he decided to let SNT win. Shadow put down a card and it was Rookie's turn. He put down a wild card. He sighed in defeat. "What color SNT?" "What! Better Gadget you better not let her win!" Shadow yelled. "Giz please I have a chance! Let me win at least one game!" Gadget pointed to his 4 cards. "You're going to put the color I need?" SNT looked at Rookie suspiciously. "This round has been going on for 3 hours! I just want it to end before I get +16 again!" "Look if this was because of the last game it was you or me and I wanted to win! Also you deserved it!" Shadow said. SNT looked at her card. "Red." "Make it green! Please! I need green!" Shadow pleaded. "Who knew Shadow was very competitive at card games." SNT thought to herself. "Red." Rookie said, sealing the game. SNT put her red 1 down and she won the game.
"That's enough Uno for today." Maria said looking cautiously at Shadow. "Shadow calm down." Gadget was preparing for him to do something. "You!" Shadow turned to Rookie. "You costed me the game! And you let someone else win!" "Oh no." SNT knew what was coming. She grabbed Rookie and leapt behind the couch. Maria and Gadget did the same. "CHAOS!... Steal all of the snacks!" Shadow teleported to the kitchen grabbing all of the snacks. He then teleported to Rookie swiping a bag of chips from him. "Hey!" Rookie starting to crack up towards the situation. Shadow teleported out of the house leaving everyone snackless. Everyone stood up. Rookie started laughing. "Our snacks." Gadget said overdramatic. SNT and Maria were relieved he didn't destroy the house.

Rookie and SNT were alone in the kitchen as Gadget and Maria try to find Shadow to get their snacks back. "I had to fight Eggman today. That's why I was late." "I understand. Eggman's been responsible for my brother coming home late sometimes. I'm mostly asleep when that happens." Rookie hated the thought of Eggman, he rolled his eyes every time the doctor was mentioned. The two stood in silence for a bit. "Your training really helped." "Really? Y'know, sometimes I thought you were the one training me." S fired up. "You trained me so well! Teaching me how to coordinate with my friends, how to plan team attacks! Give yourself more credit!" Rookie got a bit embarrassed. "You're right. I gotta give myself credit for that. Then again, it's just Eggman and his badniks. Nothing special." SNT had a small laugh when he said special. "What?" "It's ✨special✨." "What's the difference?" Rookie asked. "You have to say it with your chest. Like this ✨special✨." Rookie tried to put his whole chest into the word. "Special." "There we go." The two had a little laugh together. "Hey Rookie. There's something I gotta tell you." Rookie's heart flared up. "Is she going to.." "I'm actually going to stay here for a week. Tails finally made the watch stable enough for me to stay here for awhile! That means you can now visit me!" Rookie was a little disappointed that she didn't confess but he was still excited that she was going to stay for a week. "That's amazing! We can do so much together!" He then remembered what he was going to tell her earlier. "Hey SNT. Have you ever felt like you were being watched when you come here?" "Sometimes. Why?" "It turns out Infinite is able to know where we are using the Phantom Ruby. Whenever we feel watched it's because of him." Neither of them felt being watched right now. "We can also know where he is. If you concentrate hard enough you can sense where he is." "I'm going to assume he'll know if we try to sense him since we can." Rookie shook his head. "Let's practice that on each other." SNT walked to another room. Rookie felt like he was being watched. This time the feeling was not menacing at all. "Wow that's cool!" She ran back to the kitchen. "What did it feel like?" She asked. "It felt like I was being watched, but in a nice way. Infinite's is usually dreadful."
Gadget and Maria came back empty handed. "He's not giving the snacks back." Gadget said in defeat. Maria was patting his back. "It's getting quite late. Maybe we should go to sleep now." SNT agreed. Maria and SNT went upstairs to change. "We saw Infinite again. He said when are you going to hangout with him." Gadget said. Rookie groaned. "I don't know why he wants to hang out with us. I just know it can't be good." "Who knows? Maybe he wants to set you and SNT up." Gadget laughed. "Made any moves yet?" "I'm planning to take her on a date." Rookie said confidently. Gadget almost yelled his next sentence. "A date!" "Shut up! They might hear you!" Rookie silently shouted. "She's staying over for the week!" "Finally my little brother is making moves. How long has it been?" "I'm the older brother?" Rookie corrected. "No I am." Gadget corrected Rookie. "No. Ask mom and dad they'll tell you I'm older." "They'll tell me that I'm the older one." "Keep telling yourself that Gadget."

Rookie and SNT were in a nice field having a picnic when Rookie spoke up. "Hey SNT. There's something I have to tell you." SNT blushed as the wind started blowing, her hair flew with it. "Will you go out with me?" "Yes!" SNT and Rookie leaned closer and kissed each other on the lips.
Rookie woke up. He opened his curtains to check if it was daytime. The sun was out so he left his room. He went downstairs and to the kitchen where he saw Gadget. "Good morning Giz!" "Morning Gadget." "Want some coffee?" Gadget grabbed an empty coffee cup and put it in the coffee maker. "No thanks." Rookie was going to say something else but hesitated. He went back upstairs. He knocked on the door to SNT's room. She opened the door and looked tired. "Sorry did I wake you up?" Rookie apologized. "It's okay. You got me out of a nightmare." She rubbed her eyes and stretched her arms. "What was the nightmare about?" He looked a little worried. SNT looked like she didn't get any sleep at all. "Its just my worries about dimensional stuff." She yawned. "Did you sleep at all?" "Yeah I did. It's just a lot harder to wearing the watch." She held up her hand wearing the watch. "Now you know how I feel every night." SNT thought about that. "Well now that stuff can pass through safety we can send mail to each other now." Rookie looked relieved. "No more surprise visits?" She blushed embarrassingly. "I just want to see you that's all." Rookie felt his face become a little red. "I'm going to tell my brother about you being from another dimension right now. Cmon." He motioned her to follow him. Gadget finished eating his breakfast. "Hey SNT." "Gadget there's something we need to tell you." Rookie said. "What is it?" Gadget thought he already knew what it was. "I'm from another dimension." SNT spoke for Rookie. Gadget was dumbfounded. "You're from another dimension!"
