Chapter 18: Chaotix Situation

Cream looked around excitedly, "This place is really cool!" "Yeah! Thanks to this weird thing happening, our home has improved!" Charmy said. Vector hit Charmy's shoulder. "Hey! What was that for?!" "They don't need to know we live here!" Vector silently shouted. "There's no need to be embarrassed Vector. You've made the place still feel inviting despite the changes." Vanilla said. "Oh it wasn't all just me!" Vector said. Charmy looked at Vector with a smug face. Espio and SNT entered the building. "We should have everyone." Espio informed everyone. "Except for my friends." SNT chimed in. "Knuckles' crew right? They can handle themselves just fine." Vector assured her. "I don't think they can from what she's told me about this." Espio said. "You worry too much Espio! We have an invincible base here!" Charmy said. The ground shook. "Don't jinx it!" Cream shouted. "I didn't jinx it!" Charmy disagreed. "So what's the plan?" Espio asked SNT. "In the other Dimension we destroyed the Phantom Ruby." "So we kill him then!" Charmy said. Vanilla gasped and put her hands over Cream's ears. "Language!" "How about you take the kids to another room." Vector said. "What no! I want to hear the plan!" Charmy got dragged away by Vanilla. "We'll brief you on it after. Besides you need to be taught some discipline young man." Espio told Charmy. Charmy groaned as he got dragged away.
SNT, Vector, and Espio all went into Espio's office. "Seems easy enough to kill the guy." Vector said. "It's not at all! He can bend reality, make an endless amount of resources, and can teleport before you even hit him!" SNT explained. Espio pondered. "We need to find another way." "We go after his power source. It has to be some big machine. That's the only way he can be this strong." SNT said. "Where's the machine then? You can't just hide something that can make him bend a whole island so easily." Vector asked. "What if he's using one of these?" Espio pulled out a White Chaos Emerald. SNT gasped while Vector looked troubled. "Where did you get one of these!" SNT said. "One of our clients gave this to us as payment." Espio said. SNT opened her heart shaped bag and pulled out her Chaos Emerald. "You have one to? Beating this guy should be a piece of cake then!" Vector celebrated. "We still need to come up with a plan to actually get to him. I have no idea where Eggman could be." SNT said. There was knocking at the front door. They all turned their head towards the noise. "I thought you got every civilian?" SNT asked. "We did." Espio said.
They all walked out of the room. The front door suddenly busted open. "Alright Eggman it's time to for this to end!" Knuckles shouted. He suddenly stopped. He looked at the Chaotix and SNT. "Wait this is your place? Why'd you make it look like an evil castle!" He shouted. "It was a result of this whole mess." Espio said. Sonic whistled. "Evil castle on the outside, luxurious mansion on the inside." SNT noticed Rookie and Amy. She ran to them and hugged them. "I'm so glad you two are here." Amy and Rookie blushed. "You were worried about me?" Amy said. "Of course I was! I know what it's like to suddenly be thrusted into an completely different world." SNT said. Amy started tearing up. "Well I-I can take care of myself!" She tried to sound like she wasn't crying. SNT hugged her tighter. "Rookie what happened to you!" SNT let go of him and examined. He had cuts and bruises all over himself. He looked at Amy. "I got attacked.. a lot." "By the clones!" Amy shouted. "I had to protect him!" "Yeeeaaah.. there are a bunch." Rookie went along with it.
"Are you willing to talk to me again?" SNT asked Amy. "I am." She smiled. "Sorry for blowing up at you, and for having a small argument with Rookie." "That's what you're going to call it!" Rookie thought. "It's okay! I'm just glad we're still friends! I missed you." Sonic suddenly leaned on a wall next to SNT. "Did you miss me?" Amy hit his head with her hammer. "Ow! Amy what was that for?!" "Oh nothing." She rolled her eyes. "Jeez. I think she does this because she has a crush on me." Sonic whispered to SNT. Amy pushed Sonic away from SNT. "Thanks Amy." Rookie said. "Thanks for what!" Amy played dumb. "Yeah for what?" Sonic dumbly asked. Charmy flew up to SNT. "So what's the plan! Also who's this, is he your boooyfrieeend?" "I am." Rookie replied. Charmy looked stunned. "Aaanyways, what's the plan SNT! Are we going to break into his lair and beat him up! Or is it a sneak attack and we wait for him to lower his guard down!" Charmy flew all around the room punching the air while saying all of this. "We haven't come up with a plan yet. Can I bandage my boyfriend first?" "Aww come on! I don't want to learn mannerrrsss." Charmy groaned. SNT and Rookie just walked away.
SNT was bandaging up Rookie. "Are your glasses broken?" SNT asked. "These glasses are very durable. Gadget gave them to me for my birthday." Rookie adjusted his glasses. SNT started bandaging his arms. "I should start thinking about what to get you for your birthday." "Now is not the time for that, we have to put a stop to Infinite before things get worse." "I didn't expect him to do this much damage fast." Rookie winced a bit. "Sorry!" SNT shouted. Other people in the room looked at them. SNT got a little embarrassed. She continued bandaging him. "You shouldn't be wasting your time bandaging me up. If it wasn't for you and Sonic being around, they would've taken over the world already." Rookie remembered the events that brought the two of them together. "I need you to be healed up if we want to stop Infinite!" "But I haven't really done much." Rookie looked at her. SNT looked very offended. "Of course you do!-" she realized she was talking loud again. She lowered her voice. "Of course you do. You are willing to stand up to Infinite, have knowledge about the Phantom Ruby and can inform us from the shadows." "Tails and Rouge could do better." "I thought Rouge works for Eggman?" A random civilian said. "Rouge works for Eggman!" Rookie was surprised. "No she works for the Government." Another civilian replied. "Yeah but she betrayed them." A random fox boy said. "That's just a rumor. She never worked for the Government." The fox's friend told them. The entire room started a debate on Rouge's affiliation with Eggman and the Government. "We should've done this in a private area." SNT said to Rookie. Rookie nodded his head in agreement.
SNT and Rookie entered Espio's office. "We should use a bigger room." Charmy commented. The room was filled with Sonic, Amy, Knuckles, Cream, the Chaotix, and now the Dimensional Duo. "It's too late for that now. We need to start planning." Vector put down a map of the island. He pointed at where Eggman's base is. "This is where Eggman should be. We get there, find his power source and destroy it." "Then why don't we go there now!" Knuckles punched his glove and Sonic stretched his legs. "I don't know if you boys have noticed but the entire island is clouded in fog! A map isn't going to help us at all!" Amy shouted at them. "Shadow and Tails are still missing. We can't risk losing anyone else." Rookie said. "We'll stick together and don't worry about the fog, I don't think anything has moved so these landmarks I highlighted should help us get there." Vector pointed to the landmarks. "A big tree? I was out there and all I saw were streetlights." Knuckles pointed out. "Was there a big streetlight?" Charmy asked. Knuckles started thinking. "I did see a big streetlight somewhere." "We're going to need to keep them busy. I doubt Eggman and that Infinite guy are going to let us just walk to their base." Amy said. Everyone started thinking. SNT turned to Sonic. "Remember that message that Eggman put out for me and you, he's probably still looking for us. We can lure him out if we're alone." "Alone together?" Sonic's heart slightly fluttered. "That's giving them exactly what they want!" Rookie shouted. "It is risky, but we'll be able to go to Eggman's base and end this madness." Espio pulled out his Chaos Emerald. He held it out for Sonic and Sonic was about to grab it before Espio moved it away. "Only use this for emergencies. Eggman can't get anymore or else we're doomed." "Yeah yeah just give me the Emerald." Sonic took the White Emerald.
Everyone exited the office. "Who's going to watch over this place while we're all gone?" Vector asked. "Vanilla can." SNT suggested. "She's great at taking care of people!" Cream said. SNT went to tell Vanilla. "Alright! Partnering up with SNT. Eggman's got no chance against the power couple!" Rookie summoned a single Null Cube above Sonic and dropped it. "Ow! What hit me?" He looked around. SNT came back with Vanilla. "I can make sure everyone's safe here." "With you watching over it, I bet you will!" Vector winked. Vanilla giggled causing him to blush. "Have a safe trip everyone." Vanilla said. Everyone headed out the building and slowly started navigating to Eggman's base. Vector stopped. "This seems like a good spot for you two to separate from us." Vector pointed at the map. "We should be around here. Plenty of high ground to see over this fog." Sonic and SNT parted from the group. "Wait how are going to get around without the map?" SNT realized. Sonic waved his hand dismissing her. "We don't need one! I can get by just fine!" He almost ran off before stopping himself. He wrapped his arm around SNT. SNT looked confused and a little annoyed. "Shall we?" He dashed off with SNT. Sonic dodged and weaved through all of the illusions before suddenly flinging himself into the air. SNT started flying. She looked down and saw the "We found the place." There were some normal looking hills mixed with some jagged pieces of land sticking out.
Sonic looked around. "This view would've been romantic if Eggman hadn't ruined it." SNT stayed silent. The two waited for Eggman and Infinite to show up. Sonic tried to flirt with SNT, but she either didn't realize it or just ignored him. Sonic grew bored. "Where are they! You think us being in the sky would make it easy to find us. They must've gotten lost in their own fog." Sonic quipped. SNT gasped. "What if they found the others!" "In that case we have to cut this date short!" Sonic jumped from SNT's grasp and hit a stylish pose. "Look out!" Suddenly Shadow caught Sonic and they landed in the fog. SNT flew down to their general direction. She found the two in the same pose. "What was that for!? You ruined my fall!" Sonic yelled. "There was a trap set below you two!" Shadow yelled back "I could've handled it!" "I was worried that you wouldn't be able to see it in time!" "You were worried about me?" Sonic said curiously. They both looked at SNT. Shadow immediately dropped Sonic. "Someone has to be annoying to Eggman." Shadow finished their conversation. "Are they here still?" SNT asked Shadow.
Eggman's voice answered her question. "Thanks for ruining the show Shadow! I wanted to see that blue quilled fly to get impaled!" "I've finally found you!" Shadow walked towards Eggman. "This isn't your fight Shadow. This is their's." Infinite floated down and pointed at Sonic and SNT. "Any Eggman schemes will be stopped by me." Shadow homing attacked Eggman's Eggmobile. "Fine then! It'll be more rewarding crushing the both of you. I'll give my new friend the luxury of defeating SNT." Infinite separated himself and SNT from everyone else. SNT readied herself for battle. "Is separating people all you're good at Infinite?" "Can't we have some alone time." He teleported above her and stomped to the ground. SNT dodged it. He swiped at her but missed. She went to kick him but he teleported and counter attacked. He summoned some illusions but SNT defeated them one by one. She flew out of the fog and homing attacked Infinite. She homing attacked two more times before Infinite caught her with his Null Cubes. He summoned cannons around her. "Won't be able to dodge this without a Ruby." He started laughing as the cannons began to power up. SNT didn't look scared. "I won't need one." She took out her Pink Chaos Emerald. The cannons shot and she broke out of the Cubes and flew up dodging all of the shots. The cannons kept shooting, she hopped on one which caused the rest to shoot at it. She jumped on two more before sliding beneath one and jumped towards Infinite. She grinned as the remaining cannons shot behind her, all of them were going to hit Infinite. She flew out of the way and Infinite braced for impact.
Sonic and Shadow suddenly hit them. All four flew to the ground while all of their Chaos Emeralds fell to the floor. The fog disappeared and the island turned back to normal. Eggman looked at his Death Egg Robots fade away. "Sorry SNT! We were fighting Eggman and we didn't know you were there!" Sonic quickly apologized. Eggman looked at the Emeralds. "Infinite, grab those Emeralds!" The four of them looked at the Chaos Emeralds and then at each other. They all ran to pick them up. Sonic grabbed one before Infinite swiped him away and grabbed it, only for Shadow to stomp on him and take the Emerald. SNT grabbed an Emerald and quickly put it in her bag. Infinite wrestled Sonic for the Pink Emerald. He threw him on the ground and pulled the Emerald out of his grasp. He saw another one and grabbed it before SNT could. He then shot a Null beam at Shadow causing him to drop his Emerald. He started flying while the Eggmobile used a claw to go and grab the third one. Shadow grabbed the claw before it could. "Not this time Doctor." He crushed the claw.
Infinite suddenly hit a pink Null wall. "My suspicions were correct." Espio said as they all ran to the battlefield. Infinite gazed at Rookie and summoned a giant jagged spear-shaped set of Null Cube and threw it at Rookie. He dodged them and Knuckles was able to run on it to reach Infinite. Knuckles' set his fists on fire and he punched Infinite as hard as he can. Infinite let go of an Emerald while holding the other as hard as he can. Knuckles caught the Emerald and Infinite realized his mask was cracked. He grew furious. He was about to use the Ruby before Eggman stopped him. "We can't let revenge control our plans this time." Infinite calmed down. He stared at everyone. "Your progress will quickly fade. We've been saving our most deadly illusions for last." Infinite used his Ruby and the island went back to its bizarre state. There was no fog or illusions of anyone around this time. Eggman and Infinite started flying away. Shadow started to follow them before Sonic stopped him. "You heard Eggman, we can't let revenge get in the way." Shadow grunted. "We need to end this now." "Not before we make sure those Emeralds are safe first." Amy said. "What happened?" Charmy asked SNT and Sonic. "The plan worked too well." SNT rubbed her head. "Well our's was a bust. There was nothing useful in there! We did turn off the power!" "Let's regroup Vanilla's probably worried about Cream right now." Vector said. "Or maybe he's worried about Vanilla." Charmy whispered to everyone. "I'm going to pretend I didn't hear that!" Vector shouted as they all headed back to the Agency.
