Chapter 11: An Unhappy Hedgehog

SNT finished packing her stuff before heading downstairs. Her trip has come to an end. S arrives at the living room where Rookie and Gadget were waiting. "Well it was fun having you here!" Gadget said. "It was fun being here! It's hard to believe it's only been a week. I felt like I've been here for a long time!" SNT responded. "Can't wait to visit your dimension SNT. I'm VERY interested on what it's like." Rookie said. "Well your dimension has some interesting things itself." SNT responded. The two started flirting with each other for a bit before Gadget interrupted. "Alright lovebirds it's time to say goodbye." They stopped and SNT went towards the door. She turned around, her face was a little red. "Bye Rookie, love you." She said before leaving the house. "Bye." Rookie was also blushing. SNT speed off towards Green Hill. It was the only place she knew of that was secluded. She opened a portal from her watch and hopped in.

She was back in Null Space. "No matter how many times I travel to Null Space, this place will always be creepy." She was the only notable thing in the entire space. She gazed at the ground that seemed to go on forever. SNT was transported out of Null Space.

A portal opened and SNT emerged from it. She landed on the ground. She looked around to see where she was. She was in a dense forest. She started running out of the forest when she ran past someone. She wasn't paying that much attention to that person before they matched her speed. They were right next to her. SNT turned to see who it was and it was Shadow. "Hey Shadow! What are you doing in the forest?" "Nothing. Just wanted to welcome you back from your trip." Shadow replied. "And also to give you this." Shadow pulled out a Chaos Emerald. SNT took the Chaos Emerald. "Also I wanted to.." Shadow turned red. "Nevermind! Forget I said anything!" Shadow sped off away from her. SNT put away the Chaos Emerald in her heart shaped bag. "That was nice of Shadow to do." She said to herself. She exited the forest and entered a beach. "Wait where am I? I've never seen a beach before." S then realized she can just use her watch to call her friends. She called Sonic.
"Hey SNT! You're back! Did you get any of my messages?" SNT checked her watch messages to see that Sonic messaged her 10 times. "Huh, I never got any alerts about them." SNT said. "Sonic I told you I haven't added cross-dimensional communication yet." Tails said in the background of Sonic's call. "Can you come find me? I'm a little lost. It looks like I'm at a beach." "Of course I will!" Sonic said. There was a small pause. "What! But Knuckles- fine! Sorry SNT me and Tails have to help Knuckles on Angel Island. You can ask Amy to find you. She actually told me she was hanging out at the beach today. Maybe you're at the same one." "Okay bye Sonic!" Bye SNT I lo-" Sonic's call got cut off. SNT was a little surprised about the abrupt cut off. "I guess Angel Island doesn't have good internet. I should go see if Amy's here." SNT ran around the beach looking for Amy. After accidentally throwing sand on a couple of people by running past them, she stopped searching. Amy wasn't there. "Guess I have to call her." SNT called Amy. "SNT you're back! I mean- oh great." Amy acted annoyed. "Are you at the beach right now?" "I was earlier, but I'm home now. Why?" "I'm lost at a beach right now and I need you to come get me." "What! Don't you know how to get home from there!" "No." "Ugh fine! I'll be there in a bit! Just sit there and look pretty like you always do." Amy ended the call.
SNT waited for a bit before Amy came up to her. "I'm here." Amy said unenthusiastically. Amy looked at SNT's bangs. "You dyed your bangs while over there?" SNT looked at her bangs and realized they were green at the end. "What the? I didn't do anything to them at all? It must be because they're like that in Rookie's dimension. Hopefully they go back to normal now that I'm here." "It looks good on you." "Thanks." "Alright Let's go now." Amy ran towards the direction of SNT's house while SNT followed. "So you never went to that beach before?" Amy asked. "No. I don't like beaches that much. I'd rather run around on grass and enjoy shade under the palm trees." "You're missing out." As the two headed closer to SNT's house, SNT started to recognize the area around her. "So did anything happen while I was gone?" SNT asked. "Eggman attacked Angel Island this week. He put a tracking device somewhere on it and Sonic, Tails and Knuckles have been trying to find it." "What have you been doing?" "I've been hanging out with some friends." "You aren't helping them?" "They're doing fine on their own. They searched most of Angel Island. Besides they're having a guys adventure." They arrived at SNT's house and Amy knocked on the door.
Cream opened the door. "SNT your back!" Cream noticed SNT's bangs. "Woah you changed your bangs." Cream pointed them out. "Oh that. My bangs are like that because I've been to the other dimension for a while. They should go back to normal soon." SNT and Amy walked inside the house. "Mom! SNT's back!" Cream announced. "Welcome back SNT. Hello Amy." Vanilla was in the living room reading a book. "Hi Vanilla." SNT and Amy said in unison. "How was your trip SNT?" Vanilla asked. "It was amazing! I was able to explore the other dimension a lot more, I met some new people to. I actually met your counterpart Amy." "You did? What was she like?" Amy was curious about how her counterpart acted. "She was like you silly." SNT laughed. "Is there a another you there SNT?" Cream asked. "No. There doesn't seem to be another me there. If there was, I would've encountered her already." "Lucky them." Amy mumbled. SNT's watch beeped. Everyone looked at her. SNT looked to see it was a message from Rookie. It said "Just wanted to see if this thing works." SNT smiled. She texted back. "It does. Have a nice day today <3!" "Who's texting you?" Amy asked. "Rookie is." "Who?" "The person who I went to visit." "Oh right your other dimension friend." "Well.. he's not just a friend anymore." SNT blushed. "Oh no! What happened?" Cream said in a worried tone. "Oh nothing bad happened between us!" SNT reassured Cream. "It's just we're dating now." SNT blushed harder. Those last three words repeated in Amy's head briefly.
"WHAT!" Amy shouted. Everyone was surprised by Amy's sudden reaction. Amy looked at everyone before getting embarrassed. "Sorry." She apologized. "I'm just surprised. That's all." Cheese flew into the room. "Chao Chao Chao!" Cheese was angry at Amy. "Did I wake you up? Sorry." Cheese crossed their arms and pouted. "I'm proud of you SNT. I knew you could do it." Vanilla congratulated her. "I knew you liked him more than just a friend!" Cream said to S. "Yeah you're right. I just didn't know how to feel about it until now." SNT smiled. "So SNT! I want to know more about this guy." Amy said in an angry tone. "Of course! His name's Gizmo, but I call him Rookie." "Is that a pet name?" "No. Just a nickname. I never really thought of it that way." "What does he do?" "He's been fixing the war torn buildings in his dimension. He's done a very good job!" "Okay. How strong is he?" Amy pulled out her Piko Piko Hammer. "Hey now that Cheese is awake, let's have a picnic." Vanilla changed the subject. "Chao Chao!" Cheese liked that idea. "Okay!" Cream said. "Let me put my stuff away first." SNT went to her room and Vanilla went to grab some snacks.
Cream noticed Amy was mad at something. "What's wrong Amy?" "Nothing!" The two waited for SNT and Vanilla to get ready. "When do you think he's going to visit?" Cream asked Amy. "Huh?" "Since SNT went to another dimension to hang out with Rookie, when will he come here?" "Oh! He's going to come here? That's great! Hopefully he comes here soon. I would loovve to greet him in person." Amy was being obviously sarcastic. "Me to!" Cream said not taking the hint.
SNT and Vanilla came back to the room. The 5 of them all went to an area where there was a pond. They set up the picnic. Cream and Cheese were snacking while the rest were talking. SNT finished telling them how her trip was. Amy was holding in her anger while Vanilla listened delightful. "As much as I missed being here, I kind of wanted to stay a little longer." "You can stay there as long as you want. Just tell me before you do." Vanilla said. "I will." S replied. "How about you don't visit at all." Amy mumbled angrily. "What was that?" SNT asked Amy. "Oh nothing. Just looking at the pond." "That Infinite guy sounds scary." Cream said. "He sounds annoying." Amy started looking at the pond. "He is a little scary. But we don't have to worry about him." SNT reassured everyone. Amy started to calm down and accept that SNT's dating someone, but then, a pink aura that nobody could see appeared around SNT.

"I'm sure Rookie can handle him right SNT." Amy had an attitude when saying that. SNT noticed Amy's rude behavior. "We've beat him before." "That's good. I'm sure Rookie's sooo great huh." "Yes. He is." SNT was getting a little annoyed. The two started arguing. Vanilla tried to calm the two down. "You know what, I'm going to go help Knuckles find that tracking device!" Amy sped off with her eyes a little watery. "Amy wait!" Cream chased after her.
SNT sat down on the blanket feeling bad. "I'm sure when Amy comes back she'll apologize." Vanilla comforted SNT. S smiled. "You're right." SNT reached into the picnic basket to grab a snack. The basket was empty. "Cheese ate all the food again." Vanilla chuckled. "Cheese." Vanilla looked at Cheese. "Chao Chao." "Cheese says their is still food in the basket." Vanilla translated. SNT looked inside the basket to see a soggy sandwich left inside. She took it out and frowned. "Really." Cheese shrugged. SNT sighed. she took a bite out of the sandwich reluctantly. Cream came back. "Amy says she needs some time to herself." SNT frowned. "We should go home now that all the food's gone." Vanilla said to the two. SNT grabbed the blanket while Cream grabbed the empty basket. They all walked back home.
