Across the Rift (SNT X Rookie/Gizmo)

Chapter 1: A ✨Special✨ Beginning

SNT was sleeping in her room. The sun was rising and it was peaceful and quiet. She started to toss around in her sleep. She began to have a nightmare. Red cubes, reality shifting, losing someone she loves. "Don't worry. As long as we're together, he won't hurt us." She jolted up her bed in panic from what happened after that sentence. "That dream again." She muttered to herself. "I just wish it was a happier one this time." She thought about another dream involving her and Rookie. She smiled. She snapped back to reality as she moved her curtains. She looked out to the grassy field as the sun shined brightly. Looking at her alarm clock she waited a couple of seconds before it went off. She turned it off instantly and changed out of her pajamas.
She went to the kitchen where Vanilla was making breakfast. "Good morning SNT."
"Good morning Vanilla!" "Could you wake Cream up for me please? You know how she is on the weekends." Vanilla smiled. S laughed softly. "Sure thing!" SNT walked to Cream's room and opened the door. "Cream it's time to wake up." SNT said in a gentle voice walking towards her.
Cheese woke up and flew towards SNT. Cream got disturbed by the sunlight and tossed around her bed. "Five more minutes." She mumbled, refusing to wake up. SNT and Cheese went towards Cream's drawer and turned on the lamp. "Well if you won't wake up, then who's gonna show me and cheese what you drew in your coloring book?" Cream cartoonishly jolted out of her bed, startling SNT and Cheese. "Chao Chao!" Cheese shouted. "Cream! What was that about!" SNT shouted. Cream sat up excitedly on her bed. "Ooh ooh ooh! I drew you and your friend and wanted to show you yesterday!" "Well why didn't you?" SNT asked. "I forgot." Cream opened her drawer and putting a lot of crayons and pencils on the table before reaching down and pulled out her green notebook. She flipped a couple of pages before stopping. "Look!" She excitedly gave the book to SNT. S looked in complete shock. It was a crayon drawing of Rookie and SNT. He was holding a brown bag, his gloves were all green, boots were too big compared to his legs, he had his glasses drawn on. The black and red were smudging together almost as if they were the last thing added on. The two were smiling and holding hands.
"It took me a long time to draw this yesterday! I'm so proud of it! I'm getting better at drawing you." SNT was looking in awe. "H-how do you know what he looks like? You've never met him before." She looked at Cream. "Well you do talk about him a lot. I got so excited to meet him! So I decided to draw him! Did I draw him good?" She smiled. "Chao Chao Chao~!" Cheese teased. "Y-you did great! I'm proud of you Cream." SNT said supportively. "I wonder how he would react to this drawing." SNT looked at the notebook some more. She looked at their hands and mumbled to herself. "Us holding hands." Cream heard SNT and responded. "Well the way you talk about him it seems like something you two would do!" SNT blushed. "Chao Chao Chao." "Of course she likes him Cheese! He's her friend." Cream looked at Cheese. SNT continued blushing and closed the notebook. She put it on top of the drawer. "I think it's time we get some breakfast Cream." "Okay. Let me put my notebook away." SNT walked out of the room.
Vanilla made some handmade toast with butter along with orange juice and set them on the table. She was cleaning the counter when she noticed SNT. "Where's Cream?" Vanilla finished washing the utensils. "She's putting her things away." SNT spoke. "She was showed me a drawing she made of me and Rookie. Rookie was drawn verrry accurately. I'm very impressed on how good it was." "Maybe you should give it to him as a present." SNT remembered what she was going to do today. "Tails' has finally figured out how he can stay here for a bit! We're going to test with me first and if things go well then maybe it'll work on him!" SNT's eyes lit up. Vanilla smiled at SNT and her excitement. "If you every need advice, I'll be here for you to ask." SNT got flustered. Cream and Cheese came into the kitchen and everyone started to eat breakfast.

SNT was running through Green Hill when Sonic ran up to her. "Hey SNT! How's it hanging?" SNT looked at Sonic. "Oh! Hi Sonic! I'm off to visit Tails for my watch!" "I'm sure that can wait. Me and Shadow are having a picnic. Want to join?" "You two were having a picnic together?" SNT couldn't believe Shadow of all people would have a picnic with anyone. Let alone Sonic if all people. "No! It's not for me! It's actually for you!" Sonic blushed. "Well it was originally just you and me but then Shadow decided to butt in for some reason." Sonic looked a bit bitter about that. "Sorry Sonic but I already ate breakfast." "We can just hang out then!" Sonic continued. SNT thought about it for a little bit. "I always show up at Tails' lab early. I probably have time to hang out while he finishes up the watch. I also should tell him I'm going to his lab today." "Alright! Let's go!" Sonic had a wide grin on his face. "Follow me!" The two sped off. S made sure to notify Tails about her coming to his lab soon.
SNT and Sonic show arrive at the picnic. It's located on a bench in a grassy field surrounded by small hills spread around. "Oh great. You came back." Shadow said disappointed. He looked over at SNT. "Come take a seat with me SNT. I want to enjoy this picnic with you." SNT sat next to Shadow causing him to blush a little. Sonic looked annoyed and sat across from them. Sonic started eating. Shadow just sat there. "It's a beautiful morning isn't it?" Shadow asked SNT. "Are you going to eat anything Shadow?" Sonic interrupted. Shadow ignored him. "I already ate this morning Shadow. Maybe you should eat something." SNT offered a sandwich. Shadow looked at it and took it. He started eating. Sonic was still annoyed but he decided not to make a scene, until.

Cmon Shadow! This is a picnic, your suppose to eat." Sonic rudely said, eating a chili dog. "This was a picnic for me and her alone! I didn't want you here!" "Well why would you make chili dogs! You were just asking for me to come and join!" Sonic got defensive. "That's a good point. Wait I thought you set up the picnic Sonic?" SNT asked. She was ignored. "It was the only thing I knew how to make!" Shadow started getting mad. "Why is that the only thing you know how to make! SNT hates chili dogs!" Sonic put down his chili dog. "I like chili dogs." SNT chimed in. She was ignored again. She tried to calm them down but it seems like her presence was making it worse. "Well it's so easy to find out how to make them since you single handedly keep the market a float!" It seemed like a fight would occur as Sonic started mocking Shadow and he was ready to kill Sonic. "Would you guys stop it!" SNT shouted standing up. Sonic and Shadow finally paid attention. They stopped. "Sorry." They both said. "I hope we didn't ruin your picnic." Sonic said embarrassed. SNT took a deep breath. "Can we just enjoy the picnic please." "Of course." Shadow said.
The rest of the picnic was a bit awkward and quiet. SNT did tell Shadow about her plans today. Sonic and Shadow were excited to meet him. The food was finished and Shadow got up. "If you need me I'll be in the forest SNT." "Okay. Bye Shadow!" Shadow chaos controlled away. "Jeez what a jerk." Sonic said as soon as he left. SNT got annoyed by his comment but said nothing. Sonic got up. "So SNT, wanna run around and look for a beautiful place to relax now?" Sonic stuck his arm out towards her waiting for her to grab it. "No thanks Sonic. I should be going to Tails' lab now." Sonic frowned. "Right. You seem very excited for him to come over." "I just finally hang out with him without any issues. I want to do so many things together! I should go now. Bye Sonic!" She started running towards Tails' workshop. "Bye SNT!" Sonic shouted towards her. He watched her run off to Tails' lab. He started talking to himself. "No Sonic! She doesn't like that guy. She likes me!.. right?" SNT had time to herself while she was running to Tails' workshop. "I can't introduce Rookie to my dimension! Tails has been working really hard to make sure nothing happens when he finally does. I just hope Rookie has enough free time to visit when we can. He's been busy fixing up the last of the destroyed cities in his dimension. When he does visit, I just know we're going to have a great time!"
She arrived at Tails' workshop. "Hey SNT. I finally upgraded your watch." SNT became excited. "You did!" Tails walked over to his desk and grabbed the watch. "I was make it so your hair and bangs can stabilize in the other dimension, but I still couldn't bring your tails over to the other dimension." SNT frowned. "But! I was able to stabilize your strength! So that's something." "At least I won't have to really on the wisps as much now." SNT said. "Wisps?" Tails questioned. He continued. "Using the particles that trail behind you when you come back from there, I was able to stabilize those particles in our dimension! Which also means I can do the reverse and stabilize you there! Meaning we can theoretically bring things and people across the dimensional rift!" "Really!" SNT was even more excited. "Does that mean Rookie can finally come here! For how long!" "According to my calculations it should keep anyone stable for about a week or two. Give or take." SNT grabbed the watch and put it on her wrist. "If you're able to stay in that dimension for the whole day without you glitching too much that means I've finally cracked the code!" Tails told SNT. SNT activated the watch and a portal opened up. "See you later Tails." "Bye SNT. Have fun. Bring me a souvenir from the other Tails if you don't glitch too much!" "I will!"

SNT was transported to what looked like Null Space. She waited a little to go into Rookie's dimension before she noticed something. It looked like Infinite and two robots she's seen before in Eggman's scrap yard. "Who goes there!" One of them shouted. "Eek." SNT got transported to Rookie's dimension.
"W..was that Infinite!" She shouted. She looked around her surroundings to see where she was. It looked like she was in Chemical Plant Zone. She heard a portal open and quickly hid behind something. "Now where could she have gone." SNT recognized it was Infinite. "I know you're out there! I just want to say hi!" Infinite flew out of Chemical Plant Zone. SNT wanted to chase after him to make sure he doesn't do anything but she decided not to. "I thought we defeated him! I have to ask Rookie about this." She started running towards Rookie's house. She was hoping nothing bad was happening in his dimension. This is the first time she's seen Infinite since she defeated him.
