Chapter 19: Carnival Chaos

SNT was training a group of civilians how to defend themselves. She finished handing them the makeshift weapons Rookie had made. "Are you sure these will actually work?" A random beaver asked. "Of course they will! Just remember that it's a lot easier to defeat the illusions if you find their weak points." Amy opened the door. "SNT come here! It's important!" SNT ran out of the room. "Remember what I taught you!" She shouted while leaving. SNT entered the now extremely fancy dining room. Everyone was waiting for her. "What is it!?" She asked. Knuckles just pointed to the window. SNT looked outside to see a giant carnival outside, it had flashing letters spelling out 'Eggmanland'. "So the Doctor's actually gone and done it." Shadow commented as he leaned in a corner of the room. "That's definitely a trap." Shadow said. "Yup." Amy agreed. "A trap that Sonic just couldn't stay away from!" Vector notified the others. "He what!" Charmy shouted. "Shadow saw him run out of the building the minute it popped up." Espio said leaning in another corner of the room in the shadows.
"We need someone to go get him!" Vector commanded. "Since when were you the leader?" Knuckles asked Vector. "This is MY Agency." "Well I was the leader!" "Can we stop arguing about who's the leader and just get Sonic!" Amy shouted. "Yes ma'am!" Knuckles and Vector said in unison. "Me and SNT should go. We're both the fastest so we can find him before anyone notices." Shadow said. "We should watch out incase they attack, that carnival is eerily close to this place." Rookie warned. Shadow started thinking, he glitched a little. "I hate to admit it but you're right." Shadow turned to SNT. "I should stay incase Eggman attacks this place. The weapons Rookie made are too weak to leave this place unguarded." "OOH OOH I KNOW WHO SHOULD GO!" Charmy raised his hand and started flying high up in the room. "Yes Charmy?" Espio spoke.
"SNT and her boyfriend should go on a carnival date!" Charmy teased. Espio sighed. "Charmy! We have to get Sonic before Eggman notices he's there! There's no time for that!" Vector shouted. "This is the perfect time for that! Sonic's probably already alerted everyone. Besides it can be a nice break from this. Unless someone doesn't want them to date." Charmy looked at Amy grinning. Amy was annoyed at Charmy. "I've already told you Charmy, Miss Amy told me that she's-" "Creeam, can you go ask Vanilla what she's making for lunch today." Amy interrupted her. "Okay!" Cream skipped out of the room. "Can we just get Sonic back here before he does something even more stupid!" Knuckles shouted. "Alright alright! SNT take your boyfriend and go get Sonic." Vector commanded. SNT and Rookie left the room and went to the warped outdoors.
Outside the Agency was a conveniently placed path straight to Eggmanland. The Dimensional Duo went inside staying cautious. The deadly amusement park had roller coasters that looked like the ride could fly off at any moment, a ferris wheel that would take you above the clouds and had lights shining so bright that it made the sky look like there was just a giant light shining straight up. A speaker turned on when they got past the entrance "Welcome valued costumers to Eggmanland, A place to risk your pathetic lives in the name of fun! Our employees will be sure to meet your every needs! As long as those needs aren't safety related." SNT looked around. "What employees?" "Me." The two turned to see who said that. It was Infinite! With a cane and a top hat? "How may I help you today?" "Where's Sonic!" SNT shouted. "He's been enjoying the park of course." Infinite said. SNT and Rookie prepared for an ambush. Infinite just stood there. SNT looked around expecting something. Rookie looked back at Infinite. "Don't worry. I'll spare your lives. For now. You two have the opportunity to enjoy this theme park before I crush you all." Infinite said holding his hand in front of them before closing it tight. "Thanks." He awkwardly said to Infinite. SNT was skeptical. "Do you really expect us to believe you?" "I can crush you now if you want." Infinite's Ruby started powering up. "No! Well enjoy our.. uh, date! Like Charmy said." Rookie grabbed SNT's hand and started walking away. "I don't think this is a good time for a date, Rookie!" SNT said angry. The two walked away. "DATE!" Infinite growled and destroyed the nearest carnival stand.
"So what's the plan?" SNT whispered. "Plan?" "Yeah! Why else would you say we're on a date!" "I just wanted get away from him." "We're obviously in a trap. We need to think of something quickly!" "Unfortunately, I've known Infinite long enough to know when he's trying to be friendly." SNT didn't believe him. "I promise I'll keep my guard up." Rookie said. The carnival had a bunch of robots operating the rides. They beckoned the two to try one but SNT and Rookie kept walking. "Look at this place. Imagine what I have to tell Gadget when I get back." Rookie said. SNT stopped in her tracks. "What's wrong?" Rookie asked. "Infinite did something to our watches, what if he made it so you couldn't go back to your Dimension!" Rookie froze. He tried to open a portal to his Dimension. It didn't work. SNT opened her watch. "It's a good thing mine isn't-" Infinite suddenly put a USB into SNT's watch. "Tampered with..." SNT punched Infinite in the face. "Careful with the mask!" He held his face. "I was just checking up on you two. Thank you for reminding me SNT." They heard a crash. "What did Sonic do this time!" Infinite teleported away. SNT and Rookie ran to where the sound came from.
Sonic was standing on top of a giant golden statue of Eggman at the center of the park. Tails was throwing baseballs at it. Sonic was laughing. "Now hit his mustache and see if it falls off!" Sonic told Tails. The speakers came on. "Would Infinite please send security to GET THIS HEDGEHOG OUT OF MY PARK!" Eggman shouted furiously. Infinite turned to Sonic and Tails. "We've hoped you enjoyed your stay at Eggmanland. Now get out." He activated the Phantom Ruby. Two things shot out from a building and started landing towards the group. They landed, SNT and Sonic widened there eyes. "Metal Sonic!" Rookie said. He looked over and was even more shocked. "Woah! It's a Metal version of SNT!" Tails announced. Infinite pointed at the robots. "Say hello to security!" Metal Sonic and Metal SNT dashed to their organic counterparts. "Ha! Without any Emeralds, this should be easy!" Sonic punched Metal Sonic before Metal SNT grabbed him. "No tails? You won't be fooling anyone, with your poor disguise!" Sonic quipped. He broke out of her grasp and SNT swiped the doppelgänger away with her tails.
Rookie and Tails were dealing with Infinite. Tails threw some baseballs at Infinite. Infinite blocked them and shot a Null blast at Tails, only for Tails to pull out a spring bouncing the attack back and hitting Infinite. Rookie wondered if he could do the same and shot a Null beam at Infinite. "You're learning. Unfortunately for you, you'll never be able to do some things I can." Infinite floated up and tried to crush the two with Null Cubes. Tails flew over them and Rookie landed on a platform he made. "Let's see how long you can use those powers." Infinite flew towards Rookie and tripped him, then summoned Null cubes to crush him. Rookie pushed them away with his powers, while Infinite floated in front of him and watched. Tails homing attacked Infinite and Rookie was able to jump out of the way, only for Infinite to push him towards the other battle.
Rookie hit SNT on his landing. "Tag out!" Sonic high-fived Rookie's hand and dashed towards Tails. Metal Sonic and Metal SNT slowly approached them. Rookie got up and punched Metal Sonic. "Ow!" Rookie shook his hand. "How do you guys punch Metal!?" SNT shrugged. Metal Sonic threw SNT into a roller coaster that was going by them, that left Metal SNT and Rookie alone. Rookie was nervous. "What's wrong? Afraid of hitting your own girlfriend? Or is it because you can't hurt me at all." SNT's metal clone asked. She turned her hand into a sawblade and started swing towards Rookie, Rookie dodged them and kicked her back. Metal SNT grabbed his leg and pointed the saw towards it. Her eyes made a happy expression. Rookie pushed back the hand using Null cubes. "Aww how cute. You two match." Rookie summoned a beam of Null Cubes that knocked her away. Metal SNT turned her arm into a cannon. She shot at Rookie, but Rookie hid behind a carnival stand to avoid the shots. "Honeeeyyy. Don't hide from me. I just want to give you a kiss."
SNT was still on the roller coaster fighting Metal Sonic. She flew out of the roller coaster but Metal Sonic grabbed her. "Hey! Get off of me!" She shook him off but he just flew back to her level. Metal Sonic charged up and shot out a laser beam. SNT dodged it and kicked him in the head. He fell all the way to the ground hitting Infinite. "AAAGGGHH! This is why I don't work with a team anymore." He said to himself. Metal Sonic got up and started fighting Sonic, while SNT elegantly landed on the ground.

Infinite blushed. He shook his head quickly "I'm impressed about how long you all lasted. It's a shame it won't be for much longer." He didn't notice Metal Sonic being flung towards him. He got hit again and fell back to the ground. SNT saw her robot double attacking Rookie. She dashed and performed a homing attack. "Back off! He's mine!" "You can talk!?" Rookie made a spring out of Null Cubes and launched the Metal SNT to where the others were. He wiped sweat off of his head. "That's enough of using that for today." SNT and Rookie started to head to the battle before Rookie started to glitch a bunch. He fell to his knees. "Rookie! What's wrong!?" Tails looked over at them. "Without the watch's help, he's unstable here!" Infinite and Metal SNT laughed. "Looks like your trip is cut short." "Not unless we do it first." Infinite flew straight at Rookie. SNT blocked the attack and Sonic homing attack Infinite. Tails used the Chaos Emeralds he still had with him and held Metal SNT back. "For me? Aww you shouldn't have." She tried to grab the Emeralds.
Rookie ran up and grabbed Metal SNT getting her attention. "Yes my love?" She looked confused. Rookie started glitching again which caused her to glitch as well. "Hey! Let go!" Tails hit her with a homing attack, he then had to quickly keep the Emeralds out of Metal Sonic's grasp. Sonic suddenly took the Emeralds. "Hey rip offs!" The robotic dopels looked at him. "Come and get 'em!" Sonic dashed away. "I'll deal with the rest. Go dig Sonic's grave." Infinite commanded. Metal Sonic and Metal SNT chased after Sonic. Infinite looked at Rookie. "Do you need a functional watch? Here have mine." He stuck his arm out. Before SNT and Tails could grab it, he dashed to the other side of them. "I guess not." Rookie glitched again. SNT and Tails ran to aid Rookie. Infinite laughed. "Oh this is too good to be true. So long Rookie. You've been a thorn in my side for too long." Rookie tried to summon a Null Cube but was too weak to do so. "Tails! Do something!" SNT commanded. "I can't! I don't have the time to keep him stabilized!" Tails tried to get Rookie's watch to work. Infinite watched as Tails desperately tried to undo Eggman's code in time.
"Actually. Now that everyone's distracted." Infinite turned on his communicator. "Metal SNT get over here!" Metal SNT got there in less than a second. "What is it dear?" "We're doing the other plan." Metal SNT suddenly disguised herself to look like the real SNT. Everyone looked in horror. "Hey look! Two tails!" She showed off her holographic tails. "I'll go ask your friends where you're hiding the Chaos Emeralds. And maybe destroy the place if I feel like it." 'SNT' waved her hand and sped off. "We gotta stop her!" Rookie said. He suddenly disappeared and SNT was in his place instead. She looked confused. Infinite started laughing maniacally. SNT and Tails looked at him furious. "I'll squash you bugs later." He teleported away. "Well that's great, I'm back here again!" SNT looked where that was said from. Rookie suddenly appeared in front of her, but in his ghostly form. "At least it wasn't death. He probably thinks that's what happened." "I THOUGHT IT WAS!" She hugged Rookie. He blushed, ignoring the fact that she was able to hug him.
Tails stood there confused. "Uhh.. what are you doing?" Tails looked concerned. "Oh! Rookie is trapped between Dimensions! Sadly, I'm the only one who can see him." Tails looked even more concerned. "Yeeeaaahh. Do you need a minute alone?" "I'm telling the truth!" "Yeah I'll just leave you alone for a bit." Tails spotted Sonic and headed towards him. "I can't help while I'm here. The most I can do is find Scratch and Grounder and get them to talk." "But you gave me my tails back and swapped places with me before." "That was only because I had the Ruby. This time I really am no help." SNT ran to where Sonic and Tails were. "Oh hey SNT! Where's Ro- oh right.. hey uh, sorry for your loss. I'm always here for you." He put his hand on her shoulder. Rookie just sighed. "So that evil base right there is where everyone has been the whole time! How was I suppose to know!" Tails asked Sonic. "It didn't have Eggman's face plastered on it, duh! Now let's go!" Metal Sonic suddenly tackled Sonic. "What the?! I thought I defeated you!" Metal Sonic waved his finger at him. "SNT you're on your own for this. Me and Tails have some business to take care of." SNT headed to the Chaotix Agency. When she got there, she noticed Metal SNT struggling to find a way in. "Where is the entrance! Eggman deliberately made this and yet made the front door a pain in the a-" She noticed SNT. "SNT! Just the person I wanted to seeee. Saaay, do you know how to get in?" She batted her eyes. SNT punched the faker. "Is that a no? Fine I'll just make my own way in then." Metal SNT turned her arm into a hammer and started destroying the jagged rocks in her way. SNT ran to the front door. "Espio told me where he hid them, find him before she does!" Rookie reminded her. SNT opened the front door and lightning struck.
