"........,"

"Do-Hwa?"

I gasped, the name tumbling out on a wave of disbelief.

The male in question offered a mischievous smirk, a stark contrast to the tension in the room.

He held a bundle of papers clutched tightly in his hand.

"Well, well, well,"

He drawled, his voice dripping with a sly amusement that sent shivers down my spine.

"Seems like you've held up your end of the deal, Mr. L/N. Guess it's my turn to fulfill mine, wouldn't you say?"

Before anyone could react, Do-Hwa ripped the papers into confetti, a malicious glint in his yellow eyes.

The shreds rained down on him like a golden snowstorm as he stalked towards the fireplace.

He tossed the paper remnants into the flames, watching them curl and blacken.

Myung-ho's face contorted in a mixture of anger and something else - perhaps a flicker of fear?

He opened his mouth to retort, but Min-seo placed a calming hand on his arm.

"........,"

"........,"

She just watched.

Ignoring the silent exchange, Do-Hwa turned back to me, his smirk morphing into a wide, toothy grin.

In a blink, he was on me, wrapping me in a bone-crushing hug.

"Hey there, (N/N)!~"

He boomed, his voice muffled against my chest.

"Welcome home... though, I wouldn't get too comfortable just yet."

The familiar scent of bubblegum and something strangely comforting filled my nose.

Tears welled in my eyes, blurring my vision.

This was Do-Hwa, loud and mischievous as ever.

But why the act with the papers?

Why the ominous words?

"Do-Hwa...?"

I croaked, my voice barely a whisper.

He pulled back slightly, his grin widening.

His yellow eyes, usually full of mischief, held a flicker of concern.

"Easy there, crybaby,"

He chuckled, his voice softer now.

The nickname instantly set me on edge.
