Two days had passed, and Kazuha remained silent. She needed time to process everything, and Y/n respected her space, even though it was hard not to reach out. Meanwhile, Yeji was making an effort to be a supportive presence in his life. Her texts were normal, friendly, and encouraging, providing a small but much-needed comfort as Y/n geared up for the playoffs.

Yeji: Hey, just wanted to say good luck for the playoffs! I know you'll do great.

Y/n smiled at her message. It was nice to have someone cheering him on, even if things were complicated. He quickly typed a response.

Y/n: Thanks, Yeji. I appreciate it. Your support means a lot right now.

"Why does he have to be so stupid when it comes to me?" Yeji asked Ryujin with a pouty face, causing Ryujin to laugh.

"I don't know, maybe because he always called you 'noona'? I don't think my cousin has ever looked at you that way before," Ryujin said, making Yeji pout even more, her eyes starting to fill with tears.

"Well, it's not fair," Yeji said, her voice wavering. "I've been trying so hard, and he just doesn't seem to notice me that way."

Ryujin put an arm around her friend's shoulders. "Hey, don't cry. Maybe he's just really focused on his career right now. You know how important basketball is to him."

"I know, but it still hurts," Yeji replied, wiping away a tear. "I thought... I thought there was something between us."

Ryujin sighed. "Maybe there is, and he just needs time to realize it. Or maybe he's confused with everything going on. Give him some space, but don't give up hope just yet."

Yeji nodded, trying to muster a smile. "Thanks, Ryujin. I guess I'll just have to wait and see."

As the two friends sat in silence for a moment, Yeji's phone buzzed with a message from Y/n.

Yeji glanced at the message, a mix of emotions washing over her. "It's from Y/n. He just thanked me for my support and said he hopes we can hang out soon."

Ryujin smiled. "See? He appreciates you. Maybe he just needs time to sort everything out."

"I hope so," Yeji said, determination in her voice. "I'll keep supporting him, no matter what."

Ryujin gave her a reassuring squeeze. "That's the spirit. And who knows? Maybe things will turn out better than you expect."

Yeji sighed, feeling a bit more hopeful. "Thanks, Ryujin. You're the best."

"Anytime," Ryujin said with a smile. "Just remember, no matter what happens, we're here for you."

Yeji hesitated for a moment, then added, "Do you think... do you think he might like Kazuha instead of me?"

Ryujin raised an eyebrow. "What makes you think that?"

Yeji sighed. "I just have a feeling."

Ryujin considered this. "It's possible. Kazuha is sweet, and they did spend some time together recently. But it doesn't mean he likes her more than you."

"It feels like it," Yeji said quietly. "I don't know how to compete with that."

"You don't have to compete," Ryujin reassured her. "Just be yourself. Y/n know how amazing you are, Just he never saw you the way you saw him."

Yeji smiled weakly. "Thanks, Ryujin. I just hope I'm not setting myself up for heartbreak."

Ryujin hugged her tightly. "Whatever happens, you've got us. We'll get through it together."
