Thanks to securing the first seed in the KBL, the Seoul Knights, along with the second-seeded LG Sakers, advanced directly to the semi-finals. They now awaited the winners of the matchups between Wonju DB and Suwon KT, and KCC Egis and Mobis Phoebus.
The anticipation was high, with fans and analysts alike speculating on the possible outcomes. The Seoul Knights, led by their MVP Y/n, were the favorites to clinch the championship, but the journey was far from over. The team knew they had to stay focused and take one game at a time.
Yeji-yah: Y/n-nie!!
Pabo Y/n: what's up Yeji?
Yeji-yah: Nothing, just want to tell you that I missed you 🥺
Pabo-yah: Yeji
Pabo-yah: Don't do it to me... 🥹🥹🥹Yeji-yah: I had enough though, I wanna see you.
Yeji-yah: I don't know Why I feel like this way.Pabo Y/n: It's complicated, isn't it? Pabo Y/n: You know the playoffs are starting soon. My schedule is packed.
Yeji-yah: I know, but I can't stop thinking about you. I want to see you.
Pabo Y/n: I want to see you too, but it's really tough right now. Can we wait until the playoffs are over?
Yeji-yah: You're always so busy... 😢
Pabo Y/n: I'm sorry, Yeji. I promise we'll find time after the games. Just a little longer, okay?
Yeji-yah: Fine, but you better make it up to me. 😤
"Ugh! This girl..." Y/n leaned his head back in his computer chair, rubbing his temples in frustration.
After a few moments of staring at the ceiling, Y/n sighed and grabbed his phone. He knew he had to focus on the playoffs, but he couldn't shake the feeling that he needed to see Yeji. Maybe a quick visit would clear his mind. Making up his mind, he decided to surprise her.
Y/n grabbed his jacket and quietly slipped out of his apartment. The drive to ITZY's dorm was short, but his mind raced with thoughts of the upcoming games and the complicated situation with Kazuha and Yeji.
When he arrived at the dorm, he took a deep breath and knocked on the door. After a few moments, the door opened, and Yeji stood there, her eyes widening in surprise.
"Y/n?" she said, a wide smile spreading across her face. "What are you doing here?"
"Surprise," he said, feeling a bit sheepish. "I thought I'd come by and see you. Just for a little bit."
Yeji's smile grew even wider as she stepped aside to let him in. "Come in, come in!"
The dorm was quiet, with most of the members out for the evening. They made their way to the living room, where Yeji had set up some snacks and drinks, clearly not expecting company but quickly adapting to the pleasant surprise.
"Thanks for coming," Yeji said, sitting down next to him on the couch. "I know you're really busy with the playoffs."
"It's okay," Y/n replied, trying to relax. "I needed a break anyway."
Yeji smiled and reached for his hand, giving it a gentle squeeze. "I missed you, you know. It's been tough not seeing you around."
Y/n nodded, feeling a pang of guilt. "Yeah, I missed you too. But you know how it is with basketball and everything."
"I do," she said softly. "But that doesn't make it any easier."
They sat in comfortable silence for a while, just enjoying each other's company. Y/n felt a sense of calm wash over him, and he realized how much he had missed these moments with Yeji. As they talked and laughed, the weight of the playoffs and the confusion with Kazuha seemed to melt away, if only for a little while.
