Today was the first day of the new year, and with a week free of scheduled games for the Seoul Knights and the KBL, most players were taking the opportunity to rest. However, to the surprise of some security personnel at the Jamsil Students' Gymnasium, Y/n was there, alone, engaged in a light-tempo shootaround.

The gym was quiet except for the rhythmic sound of the basketball bouncing on the hardwood and the swish of the net as Y/n's shots found their mark. Despite the break, Y/n couldn't resist the urge to stay sharp and refine his skills. However, his mind kept drifting away from the court and towards Kazuha.

He replayed their conversations in his head, the way her eyes lit up when she laughed, and the blush that spread across her cheeks when he asked if they could meet alone. The memory made him smile, causing him to miss a shot, which bounced off the rim.

A security guard, recognizing Y/n, approached him with a friendly smile. "You're not taking a break like everyone else, huh?"

Y/n paused, wiping sweat from his brow, and returned the smile. "I guess I just can't stay away from the court. Plus, I've got a lot on my mind."

The guard nodded. "Well, it's inspiring to see your dedication. Happy New Year, Y/n."

"Happy New Year to you too," Y/n replied, resuming his practice but finding it increasingly hard to focus.

As he continued his shootaround, the tranquility of the gym only amplified his thoughts about Kazuha. He wondered what she was doing right now, if she was thinking about him too, and what their first proper meeting would be like. Each swish of the net seemed to spell out her name, and every bounce of the ball echoed with his hopes and uncertainties.

After an hour of shooting, Y/n finally decided to wrap up his session. As he collected his things, his phone buzzed with a message from Kazuha: "Happy New Year, Y/n! Hope you're enjoying your break. :)"

He smiled, feeling a warmth that contrasted with the cold air outside. He replied, "Happy New Year, Kazuha! Just finished a shootaround. How about you?"

Walking out of the gym, Y/n's thoughts were still on Kazuha. The new year was a blank slate, filled with possibilities and opportunities. As he stepped into the crisp winter air, he noticed the team's camera crew setting up. They were there to film with the team's GM for their season documentary. While he was used to seeing them around, he hadn't realized they had been filming him during his solitary shootaround.

One of the crew members, spotting Y/n, called out to him. "Hey, Y/n! Happy New Year! Didn't expect to see you here today."

Y/n smiled and approached them. "Happy New Year! Yeah, I just needed to clear my head a bit. Didn't know you guys were filming today."

The GM, who had been speaking with another crew member, turned and greeted Y/n warmly. "Happy New Year, Y/n. Good to see you putting in the extra work."

The camera crew followed Y/n as he continued walking, capturing his every move. They filmed him gathering his gear and heading towards the exit. The mood was casual, with the crew focusing on getting candid shots rather than conducting a formal interview.

"Mind if we tag along for a bit?" one of the crew members asked.

"Sure, no problem," Y/n replied with a shrug.

As they walked, the crew filmed Y/n in his element, his passion for the game evident in his every step. They captured his interactions with the security guards and his brief exchanges with the staff. The camera focused on his face, showing the mix of determination and contemplation.

"So, how's the break treating you?" the GM asked as they walked together.

"It's been good. I've had some time to relax, but I can't stay away from the court for too long," Y/n said, chuckling. "Basketball is like therapy for me."
