"AGH!!!!" Y/n woke up with pain in his back. For him, it was no surprise because he knew it would hurt after injuring it during yesterday's game. The hard part now was hiding it.

He slowly swung his legs over the side of the bed, wincing as he tried to stand up. Every movement sent sharp pains through his back, making it difficult to even straighten up. Determined not to let this injury set him back, he took a deep breath and began his morning routine.

As he brushed his teeth, he had to lean against the sink for support, pausing every few seconds to stretch out his back. Getting dressed was a challenge; pulling on his shirt and pants required a few breaks to sit down and ease the pain.

In the kitchen, he tried to ignore the discomfort while making breakfast. Reaching for items in the cabinets was especially tough, and he had to grit his teeth to keep from groaning aloud.

Finally, he sat down at the table with his food, taking a moment to compose himself. His phone buzzed with messages from his teammates and friends, checking in on him. Among them was a message from Kazuha.

Kazuha-ssi: How are you feeling this morning?

He hesitated before replying, not wanting to worry her.

Y/N🏀🤍: Sore, but I'll manage. Thanks for checking in.

Kazuha-ssi: Don't push yourself too hard, okay? Promise me you'll be careful.

Y/N🏀🤍: Promise. Don't worry, I've got this.

As he finished breakfast, he mentally prepared for the day ahead. He knew he had to take it easy and not push himself too hard in practice. But most of all, he knew he had to keep his pain under control and not let anyone see just how much he was struggling.

As Y/n arrived at the training facility, he tried to walk normally, masking the pain as best as he could. However, it didn't take long for Coach to notice his stiff movements and pained expressions.

"Y/n, over here," Coach called, motioning him to the side. "How's the back?"

Y/n forced a smile. "Sore, but I'll manage."

Coach gave him a skeptical look. "I don't want you pushing through an injury, especially after yesterday. Head to the medical team for a check-up. No training for you today."

"But, Coach—"

"No buts, Y/n. I need you at your best for the next game. We can't afford to take any chances," Coach said firmly, giving him a pat on the shoulder.

Reluctantly, Y/n nodded and headed towards the medical room. The team's head trainer, Jeff, was already waiting for him, having been briefed by Coach.

"Alright, let's take a look," Jeff said, guiding Y/n to the examination table. "How bad is the pain?"

"Pretty bad this morning," Y/n admitted, lying down carefully. "I knew it would hurt, but it's worse than I expected."

Jeff performed a series of tests and checks, gently probing the injured area. Y/n winced a few times but tried to stay still.

"Well, it's definitely inflamed," Jeff said, making notes on his clipboard. "I'm going to recommend rest and some anti-inflammatories. We'll also do some physical therapy to help ease the pain and promote healing."

"No training at all?" Y/n asked, already knowing the answer.

"No training," Jeff confirmed. "Your body needs time to heal, and pushing it could make things worse. I'll let Coach know you're off the court for today. We'll reassess tomorrow."

Y/n sighed but nodded. "Alright, I understand."

"Good," Jeff said, giving him a reassuring smile. "You'll get through this, Y/n. Just take it one day at a time."
