With a heavy sigh, Manisha rub her eyes and yawn. She is in desperate need for a good night's sleep or at least a nap, because all these assignments and exams are piling up and her brain and body are struggling to keep up. She have two essays to finish researching so she can start actually writing it and three exams she need to study and make notes for. But right
now, she feel like dropping everything, skipping class to get some sleep.
But Manisha can't because she don't allow herself to. If she work on everything now, as soon as possible, she can finish, maybe earlier than expected.But...it's just...too much. Her brain hurts, it's throbbing and she is exhausted. It's been three years since she started college and maybe, kinda, started regretting it. But she know she just feel regret during those midterms and finals. Plus, Manisha is almost done. Just one more year to go...two more semesters left. Then she out! She just have to work a little harder and be patient.
Mani:-'I'm in desperate need of a coffee' she tell herrself. During these three years, coffee has become her best friend and her lifelong companion. She can't live without it.(Meee too😂😅😅).... Okay, maybe
She is exaggerating but all she care right now is getting that coffee that she've been craving all day. Looking at the time on her phone, she decide to skip this one class to catch up on her assignments due (one of the famous decisions for college students). With her books and notebooks in her arms, she make her way towards the coffee shop
within the college campus called 'Coffee Fix'. Very suiting for nearly 90% of students on campus. It's nearly 3 in the afternoon and there aren't many souls in the cute shop. What she liked about this shop is the nice soft lighting, comfy couches and armchairs as chairs, and there's always something new playing in background. Those in the music producing career often play their music here. Plus, for a small fee, she can
suggest a song to play.Manisha head straight to her favorite spot in the back corner next to the yellow glow of a lamp and charging outlets. After putting her stuff down, she fall into the armchair to get some minutes of rest.
A soft tap on her arm wakes her with a jolt. Upon shooting her eyelids open, she met
with the eyes of a guy. He smiles and she notice how his eyes seem to smile with his lips.???:-"Hi! I saw you come in...You fell asleep and I didn't wanna wake you but...we're closing?"
He says shyly.Mani:-"It's closing time? Already? Wait, what time is it?!" she ask herself than him and look for her phone.
???:-"It's almost...nine at night." she pause and look up. " We closed an hour ago actually."
Mani:-"An hour ago?! Oh god, I'm so sorry!" she hop up from the armchair, feeling energized as ever. That's what nearly 7 hours of sleep does to a person. Is that normal? Manisha had no idea
anymore. And she know what else? She missed another class...but if missing that class helped her feel refreshed, then so be it.Manisha start to gather her things, realizing she was never able to get her coffee she wanted earlier. But a hand on hers stops her. "You don't have to leave now, you know?"
Eyes following up his arm to his face, he nods. "Yeah, take your time. It looked like you needed a coffee when you came in. I actually made you one. There."
He points to coffee cup on the small table next to her, with the foam design of a heart still there but not steaming hot anymore.
Feeling her cheeks redden, she smile and relax
Mani:-"Oh...wow...thanks. You...you didn't have to."
Manisha look up at the boy, now noticing he must be a barista and must be new because she haven't seen him around here before.
Baristas in this coffee shop were not this cute.
