*Venom*
As the morning sun cast a warm glow over the estate, I found myself already awake, the luxury of sleep often eluding me.(*to escape from*. ) This grand mansion, with its opulence and elegance, felt strangely familiar-a place where my secrets could remain hidden, shrouded in the shadows. Taehyung and his friends were oblivious to the true nature of this estate, to my.... true nature.
Each step I took through these halls was a reminder of the past I couldn't escape. This city, this mansion-they were haunted by memories I wished to obliterate. Every polished marble floor, every opulent piece of decor, screamed of a history I despised. If I could, I would burn down this whole damned country. The thought of its destruction brought a twisted sense of solace. But for now, I had to endure, had to navigate through the reminders of a time that made my blood boil.I moved with a silent grace, my footsteps barely making a sound. Each step was measured, each glance calculated. I was the owner of this estate, a powerful figure in the underworld. To them, I was an enigma-who seemed to appear and disappear at will.
I had noticed him the moment he set foot in this mansion. Taehyung. There was something about him that piqued my curiosity, something that stirred a feeling I couldn't quite place. He was different from the others-more perceptive, more intuitive. Last night, as I watched him from the shadows, I realized he had sensed my presence.
But it wasn't the first time I had seen him.
Flashback
*Two nights before the incident in Paris*
I was walking through a quiet park, seeking solace in the stillness of the night. The air was cool, a gentle breeze rustling the leaves of the trees. I needed a moment to think, away from the chaos of my life, from the constant threat of danger that shadowed my every step.
As I walked, I noticed a man standing alone, looking up at the starry night sky. He seemed lost in thought, unaware of his surroundings. That was when I saw it-a laser sniper beam aimed directly at him. My instincts kicked in immediately. The sniper wasn't after me, but the man was clearly a target.Without a second thought, I moved quickly, positioning myself to intercept the sniper's line of sight. With a well-aimed throw, I sent a knife whizzing through the air, striking the sniper before he could take the shot. The man remained oblivious, still gazing at the stars, as if the danger had never existed.
I disappeared into the shadows before he could notice my presence, but the image of him stayed with me. There was something about his vulnerability, his innocence, that tugged at a part of me I thought long buried.
Present
That man was Taehyung. And now, here he was, in my estate, unknowingly stepping into my world.
As I turned a corner in the hallway, my thoughts still on that night in Paris, I collided with something solid. I took a step back, ready to defend myself, only to find Taehyung sprawled on the floor, looking up at me with wide, surprised, startled eyes.
He scrambled to his feet, his expression a mix of confusion and embarrassment. "Wait, what just happened?" he mumbled, more to himself than to me.
I watched him silently, my face a mask of indifference. His clumsiness was almost endearing.
"Sorry about that," he said, dusting himself off. "I didn't see you there."
I said nothing, simply regarding him with a cold, detached gaze. He seemed unsettled by my silence, fidgeting slightly under my scrutiny."Do you... live here?" he asked, clearly struggling to find his words. "I mean, I haven't seen you around before."
I gave a slight nod, offering no further explanation. His curiosity was evident, but I wasn't about to indulge him. He didn't need to know who I was or why I was here. The less he knew, the safer he would be.
"Well, um, nice to meet you, I guess," he said awkwardly, extending a hand.
I stared at his outstretched hand for a moment, then turned and walked away, leaving him standing there, bewildered. As I continued down the hall, I could feel his eyes on me, filled with questions that would remain unanswered.
