Chapter: A Mother's Call
J-Hope's phone buzzed on the table, the screen lighting up with an unknown number. He glanced around at the other members, who were immersed in their activities, and hesitated for a moment before answering.
"Hello?" He answered, his voice cautious.
"Hoseok, it's your manager," a familiar voice said, sounding unusually tense. "I'm calling from another number because our lines might be tapped. Listen carefully."
His heart raced. "What's going on?"
"It's your mother," the manager said, his tone grim. "She's been admitted to the hospital. She wants to see you."
The words hit J-Hope like a punch to the gut. He felt his world spin as he processed the information. "Which hospital?"
"Seoul National University Hospital," the manager replied. "I know it's risky, but she's asking for you. She needs you."
"I... I understand," J-Hope stammered, his mind reeling. "I'll get there as soon as I can."
He hung up and looked around the room, his eyes finally landing on Venom. She was upstairs, but he knew she would be the one to turn to. Taking a deep breath, he made his way to her room, knocking gently before entering.
Venom looked up from her laptop, her eyes narrowing slightly. "What is it, Mr. Jung?" she still wasn't healed completely but enough to function properly.
"It's my mom," J-Hope said, his voice strained. "She's in the hospital. She wants to see me."
Venom's expression softened, but she also looked conflicted. "Hoseok, you know it's dangerous out there. We don't know who's watching or what traps might be set."
"I know," he replied, his voice trembling. "But I need to see her. She's my mom."
Venom sighed, closing her laptop and standing up. "Alright. But we have to be careful. We can't afford any mistakes."
"Do u have any of the ornamental devices i gave you ".
J-Hope nodded, taking the device and slipping it into his pocket. " the ring and the pendent"
Venom grabbed her coat and motioned for him to follow. "Let's go. We need to get you there quickly and quietly."
They moved through the mansion, the rest of the members watching with concern but understanding the urgency. As they reached the front door, J-Hope felt a pang of guilt for leaving them behind, but his mother needed him more than anything right now.
Jhope drove through the city with practice ease, venom was on passenger seat her eyes scanning the surroundings for any signs of trouble. J-Hope sat beside her, behind the wheel his mind racing with worry and anticipation. The streets of Seoul passed by in a blur, the neon lights casting eerie glows on the buildings as they sped through the night.
"Stay close to me," Venom instructed as they neared the hospital. "We'll get in and out as quickly as possible."
J-Hope nodded, his heart pounding in his chest. They parked a few blocks away from the hospital to avoid drawing attention and made their way on foot. The night air was cool, and the city seemed deceptively calm despite the tension that gripped him.
As they approached the hospital entrance, Venom placed a reassuring hand on J-Hope's shoulder. "Remember, we're being watched. Stay alert."
They entered the hospital, the sterile smell and bright lights creating a stark contrast to the darkened streets outside. Venom led the way, her presence radiating a mix of confidence and caution. J-Hope followed, his mind focused on seeing his mother.
