That night at 2am, mingi wakes up to a stinging pain in his ankle. He reaches for the painkillers and water bottle on his nightstand. After taking the medication, he can't go back to sleep, the very consequence of going to bed early that evening. He decides to check his phone. Him and hongjoong had been messaging each other non stop till he fell asleep, accidentally leaving him on read. He types a quick answer and clicks send, though it doesn't go through right away.
Then out of habit, he taps on the chat box with Yunho's name. Strangely, it says that he's online. Who would he be texting at 2am in the morning? Mingi thinks. Should I send him something? Eventually he sends Yunho something casual.
Me Hey are you awake?
He gets a response within seconds.
Yunho💌 Yeah, can't sleep😅 And you? You should be getting as much rest as you can
