34. I Am Here

A long wire from Masterbaiter's fishing pole whipped towards Kiyoshi's feet. With the swipe of a hand, Kiyoshi grabbed the fishing wire and flung him. Masterbaiter, midair, sent another line at him. It wrapped around Kiyoshi's left arm, and once he landed on his feet, it tightened. Right after, a large strawberry seed flew at Kiyoshi. Using his free hand, Kiyoshi cleanly sliced it in half with his bone blade. As the halves tumbled to the ground, Corvade jabbed her baton into his throat. Kiyoshi let out a groan, spit flying from his mouth. With a swift kick of her right leg, she sent him flying back. He fell to the ground with a dusty crash.

Woah, they work well together considering how different they all are. I was impressed.

A chunk of cement soared towards Kiyoshi. He dodged it, but ended up getting hit by Dad instead, who had switched places with it. His shoes screeched on the floor while he skidded from impact.

Static came from behind and jumped onto him. She squeezed his right arm while her hands glowed faintly. Noticing, Kiyoshi jabbed his blade into her. Not when I'm here, though. Sprinting over and using my Quirk made him miss. Shortly after, Furutani slammed her foot on his right arm's shadow, preventing it from moving further. Kiyoshi continued to shake Static off, but she had a monster grip.

"You are nothing but a pretend hero! Learn your place and stay down!" he bellowed.

A fishing line wrapped around his waist and left arm, sealing him in his place. He continued to try to break free, the fire in his expression growing hotter.

A weary smirk appeared on the vigilante's lip. "Mr. Boner, don't you know that a great man once said that as long as you believe in yourself, you can become a hero?"

Strawberry Shades and Corvade quickly closed in. Holding up his right fist that had a seed formed on it, Strawberry Shades slugged Kiyoshi in the face. The layer of white bone on his face shattered with a loud crack! With his other fist, he hit him again.

"That's right! And with that courage, we will turn that into power!" Strawberry Shades exclaimed.

It was corny, but it's something that I really wanted to believe.

Pressing her heels on Kiyoshi's body, Static leaped off of him. Corvade dashed in and raised her baton. He tried to blow her away but feeling the effects of Static's Quirk, had become sluggish. She scored a direct hit on his arm, shattering all the bone on it. With the twist of his body, he spun and broke free of his restraints. He hit Corvade in the shoulder with a strong punch. Before he could inflict more damage, Masterbaiter restrained him again. Kiyoshi thrashed and shook as the lines tightened around his body. Blood seeped from his skin, the cuts deepening with each pull.

"Now's our chance! Attack before he regenerates!" Dad called.

He didn't have to say it twice. We jumped into action. I flung my boomerang and it whisked into Kiyoshi. It ignited with electricity just as a seed attacked him. Upon making contact, the electrical charges from my weapon set the seed on fire, and Kiyoshi let out a pained grunt.

Corvade latched her grappling hook onto his shoulder and zipped at him. Her knee was a black blur that hit into his nose with a harsh slam. Blood spurted from his nose and shortly after, Kiyoshi got knocked to the ground. Static jump on him and used her Quirk again. Meanwhile, Furutani helped Masterbaiter keep him restrained.

"Your organization is in shambles and the heroes are on their way. Once they get here, you're never stepping foot outside ever again. You're finished," Corvade said.

A low sound came from Kiyoshi. He was...laughing? At first, it was quiet. Then, it ascended into full-blown laughter. Although he was restrained, I couldn't help but feel unnerved. We were all here, winning, but I didn't like how he was acting. Something wasn't right.
