"It seems like you've recovered quite quickly, Onishi. It's safe to say that you won't need to get a further checkup," the doctor informed. He blabbed on more about my injuries and then let me go. I gave him a bow before leaving.

I was at the hospital for my health checkup since I got injured during the attack. Although I was healed during my hospital stay, the doctor wanted me to come back to see how I was faring.

It's been almost two weeks since I last saw Corvade. Since then, I've been trying to use my Quirk on demand. It's kinda hard to do alone since I need something to charge at me head-on, but at least I'm able to practice during villain attacks. I'm not too successful though. I also discovered that Corvade's boomerang could turn into a pen which I carry around now. Turns out metal detectors aren't able to detect it, which made me wonder where she got this anyway. Actually, where does she get all her gadgets? Despite revealing herself as my actual mom, I hardly knew a thing about her.

As I made my way down the hall and back downstairs, I accidently bumped into a patient. He didn't look so good. He was pale white. His mouth was chapped and there were dark circles under his eyes. His legs were trembling too. I muttered a quick apology. Just as I stepped away, he fell to the floor.

"W-woah. Hey, you alright?" I asked, kneeling to my knees. I didn't bump into him that hard, did I?

A nearby nurse quickly rushed to his aid, asking the patient if he needed help. The man didn't respond for a few seconds, until he started to shake violently and make weird gurgling noises. That panicked the nurse, and she called for backup. Suddenly, his nails became sharp claws and the horn on his forehead grew. His body started going all weird too, beginning to bulk up. That was when I noticed orange liquid trickling from the edges of his mouth.

That's not good. I turned to the nurse to tell her when the man bolted from the floor. With a now larger hand, he smacked her away. The surprise attack made me fall on my butt. I watched the nurse crash into the nurse behind her, and they went flying away. The people around me screamed and started to flee.

He towered over me, now bigger and taller than before. His eyes had gone white and veins popped out of his skin. Raising his fist, he slammed onto the ground, shattering the tile. I managed to roll away just in time and stand back up. He hardly gave me time to breathe when he threw another punch. Dodging it, his fist crashed into the wall creating a giant hole. It seemed like it got stuck, because he was struggling to pull it out. I didn't stick around though and sprinted away.

As I ran down the hallway, more patients were started to rampage. They attacked anyone nearby with whatever Quirk they had. Because of that, I had to evade all kinds of Quirks; gusts of wind, pebbles, giant lizard tails... I nearly slipped on a puddle caused by a patient's Quirk. Up ahead was the elevator with a huge crowd trying to scramble inside. People were pushing and yelling, trying to squeeze their way in the already full elevator.

Escaping through elevator during a villain attack was a rookie mistake. Something bad always happens when you do: the elevator gets stuck, the doors don't close, the wires snap and the shaft falls... I should cut them some slack though; this is probably their first rodeo.

I was about to head to the stairs when orange gas spurted from the air vents. The last lucky souls slipped their way into the elevator, the doors shutting. People began to pound on the doors and others tried to run away from the gas. Knowing this was bad news, I ran inside the nearest room. A few others had the same idea, and they followed after me. I slammed the door shut behind them. Through the wall, I heard coughing.

"Kero, what in the world is happening out there?!" an older woman exclaimed. She had a froglike appearance with dark oval eyes and a large mouth.
