Kiyoshi's body was recovered a few days later and was declared officially dead from Quirk overdose. Furutani left no traces of herself. I am unsure of whether she's alive or just left. Either way, thanks to our efforts at Musutafu Science Lab, Kiyoshi and his organization was over: the mission was a success.

I received more injuries than before so I had to stay in the hospital longer. People visited during my time, some of them not surprised to see me there. A few local heroes like Kamui Woods and the police thanked me for warning them about the attack. They also asked me about information on the attack. Even Eraserhead swung by and despite always looking disappointed with me, managed to squeeze out a small smile. That was after getting long lecture, of course.

Ms. Gin, Junichi, and Iida swung by as expected. Midoriya popped in to drop off snacks before hurriedly rushing out. I got sent balloons from Himawari's parents and flowers from Bakugo's family. As I read the bouquet's card, I was surprised to see Bakugo's gentle signature printed next to his parent's. I guess he can write nicely if he really wants to.

It was tiring with all the company, but at least I wasn't alone. Dad was hospitalized too, and his room was next door. He kept trying to leave his room to see me but kept getting caught by nurses, so he was put under tight surveillance. Meanwhile, Mom took turns visiting us. She came everyday and every single time, she would cry. As for the vigilantes, I haven't heard a word. Apparently after fainting, Mitsume brought us to shore then everyone left. I had no idea how they were doing or what they were doing, but I only hoped they were fine.

I was practically back to full health while Dad still needed some further resting. He was allowed to recover at home and at last, we were finally discharged. Since we've been gone and Mom's been busy, we were running low on groceries. I offered to go. I haven't felt the sun in ages, since I was stuck in a stuffy hospital room. After some convincing, I stepped outside with the grocery list in-hand.

It was great to be outside. It was beautiful day, far nicer than expected in September. As I walked through a small street, I heard someone land behind me. Turning around, I saw Corvade.

"Corvade," I stifled. "It looks like you recovered."

She curtly asked how I and Dad were doing. I told her we got discharged from the hospital today. For a moment she just stared at me, particularly, at my face. I shifted my feet awkwardly wondering if I had a booger on my nose when she spoke.

        "The others will be fine."

She must be talking about the vigilantes. I let out a relieved chuckle. "Yeah, I thought so. They wouldn't lose to something like this."

Another silence fell between us. I inspected her face. She looked the same as always. Her cloak was patched up and per usual, she looked upset to see me.

I squeezed the grocery bags and peered at the cement. "So... With Crimson Eclipse gone, I'm guessing you're leaving?"

I already knew the answer. A part of me wanted her to stay because despite her leaving me, I wanted to know why. I wanted to know why she never came back, I wanted to know more about her and my birth dad and her life. I wanted to know more about my Quirk. I wanted to know what she thought of me, and if she loved me.

Corvade moved her mouth to speak when a surge of fire goes bursting up into the air. The intensity of the heat burned my eyes, and I staggered back. More fire ignited and soon, people began to scream and run. Turning around, I saw the villain emerge. Since his body was made out of the fire, he was easily able to walk through the flames. He was a distance away from me, so I still had a good chance of making it out. Not to mention, I wasn't getting targeted. He was going after someone else. He was slowly approaching Corvade. For a split second, we locked eyes.
