35. My Hero

Before Kiyoshi's blade could reach me, a burst of energy exploded from my fingertips. The resulting force caused his blade to snap, and it sent him flying. He tumbled a few feet away, his knees skidding on the ground. Wiping away hot tears, I prepared myself for the next attack.

"At last! It's about time your Quirk appears!" Kiyoshi slurred. He rose to his feet, crimson blood dripping down his chin. Another blade formed on his forearm, replacing the one that snapped. "I'm going to enjoy tearing you apart!"

He dashed. Ripping the blade with his other hand, he flung it like a boomerang. Swiping my hand, it missed me. I sprinted away and frantically analyzed the situation. Furutani and Strawberry Shades were still out of it and so were Dad and Corvade. As for Static and Masterbaiter, I had no idea where they were. From afar, I spotted my boomerang that I dropped collapsed. If I could maybe reach it, it might increase my chances of surviving...

What am I kidding? This is insane!

I felt Kiyoshi's presence on my toes. A bony hand reached out. His fingers grabbed the air when I accidentally bonked my foot against rubble. My nose smacked cement and shortly after, warmth drizzled out. I had no time to clean it, because Kiyoshi slammed his fist. I managed to roll away in time and use my Quirk to evade his other first. Leaping to my feet, I got barraged with swings and punches. Somehow, I was able to avoid them.

With a yell, his blade swiped across my belly. I was slow to react, which caused him to slice a small cut on me. It would've hurt more, but running on pure adrenaline did wonders. With lightning speed, a fist nears my face.

I'm usually unlucky but when I'm lucky, I'm lucky.

A burst of water exploded from the wall and knocked him away. The building groaned and everything shook. The ground began to form cracks, and I knew that it was gonna give out soon. Water began to slowly spread across the floor, making the terrain even harder to navigate.

With Kiyoshi distracted, I grabbed my boomerang. I activated the electrical charge and flung it at him. He was in for a huge shock, and him being wet increased the pain. It swung back to me and I caught it but forgetting that the electricity was still going off, I got shocked like an idiot.

Small lines covered parts of Kiyoshi's exoskeleton. He let out a frustrated yell along with a loud curse. 

"What makes you think you can take me on? I was in Venom's Bane! I've defeated countless heroes! I've been using my Quirk for years! I've mastered it! You don't know shit about your pathetic Quirk!"

My hair was burnt to a crisp, my stomach was bleeding, my limbs hurt, and I felt like puking, but I stifled a reply. "You're right, I don't know anything about my Quirk. I can't beat you either."

"But together, we can!" Static exclaimed.

With a block of cement in-hand, she smashed it into Kiyoshi's head. It instantly crumbled into pieces. While it didn't break his armor, it did leave a large crack. Before he could grab her, she ducked. Masterbaiter, holding a chunk of floor, used his Quirk to extend it. It hit Kiyoshi head-on, and the crack grew. Then swinging his fishing pole, the line wrapped around Kiyoshi's neck and forced him down. Using his blade, Kiyoshi sliced the line. He grabbed it and threw it. Before he could get the full swing, I redirected his arm, so it moved forwards. He ended up throwing it to Masterbaiter instead.

"You're super heavy, y'know that?" Static bitterly said with another cement block in-hand. She dodged Kiyoshi's attack by leaping. "Do you eat rocks for breakfast, or are you just a blockhead"

Static's kick missed. Grabbing her leg, Kiyoshi flung her up into the air. He jumped, readying his fists. Before they could hit, Masterbaiter's line wrapped around her leg and quickly pulled her away. Her body rolled on the ground, and water rippled from Kiyoshi's fists.
