Plop.

Plop.

Plop.

The sound of water continuously dripping filled the silence and their own breathing was the loudest thing they could hear.

It was dark. The cloth over their eyes made sure they wouldn't be able to catch a glimpse of anything in that tent. But this was better. The darkness was more appeasing than meeting the blue gaze of the devil.

The new captive soldiers saw their previous comrades in passing, locked up and drowning in their own daze. The soldiers they had thought to be dead, but it was more dreadful to realize that two Fatui spies had replaced them.

The idea of the Fatui infesting the main camp while wearing their noble uniforms was terrifying. Plenty of lives could be lost, but the Divine Priestess' safety was all they could think of.

If Sangonomiya Kokomi falls, Watatsumi Island will be quick to follow. However, it can't hurt to hope. Hope that Her Excellency sees through their opponents like she always did. Hope that victory was always theirs to take.

At least, that is what General Gorou used to say. But right now... hope was nothing else but poison.

They hoped their captured comrades would recognize them, but the only thing they peered into were pairs of soulless eyes, unable to tell the past from the present. The sound of dripping water was the only thing they'd respond to.

The Eleventh Harbinger... He could kill the mind before he did the body, but they were warned that the scholar in white was capable of much worse.

"Tsk, those dimwits can't even do a cleaner job. Now my pants are all messy!"

Soleil's lips curled when Childe came out of the tent to meet her. There was a small splatter of blood on the thigh part of his pants, and the man was just as displeased to have the stain.

"So it's that time of the month for you, eh?" Soleil teased. "You find this funny, don't you?" Childe deadpanned, "If they were going to make a mess, I would have done the interrogation myself."

"They inherited their bloodlust from you," Soleil snorted and crossed her arms, "Hopefully, they're still alive? They're more useful breathing than rotting."

"They were trained, that's for sure. They wouldn't make a sound despite Javert's attempts to make them talk, yet all I had to do was walk in that tent and announce myself," Childe said amusingly, "I guess seeing a Harbinger reminded them of what they were actually dealing with."

"Spare me the details. What have you learned?" Soleil asked. "They were planning an attack on the main base after they found it," Childe replied, "They started by disguising themselves as our soldiers then carry out an assassination."

"An attack? With that little manpower?" Soleil raised an eyebrow. "It doesn't add up, I know. I know they're lying but that's all they were saying," Childe shrugged.

"Have you tried interrogating each of them separately?" Soleil asked. "That's the first thing I did. Their stories add up perfectly," Childe answered.

"Tsk. That doesn't make sense. They say they were planning an assassination attempt yet were not equipped with the appropriate weapons," Soleil frowned.

"Not to mention we found them fleeing the camp in secrecy," Childe added. Soleil contemplated for a while.

"They weren't fleeing the island," Soleil muttered, "They were headed somewhere when we found them. Perhaps to rendezvous with someone in secrecy."

"With who?" Childe frowned. "That's something only they know at the moment," Soleil said, "We need to squeeze the information out of them."

"Then can I–"
