A chuckle escaped Childe's lips when he heard the muffled commotions from inside the tent. It used to be furious insults and rebellious bite backs.
Then, it shifted into cries and pleas, begging for something. It was fun listening to how Soleil toyed with their emotions. She must be enjoying their despair.
"Charming, isn't she?" Childe asked amusingly. "Miss Rheingold is... something," a Fatuus lieutenant muttered as he stood behind Childe, waiting for results.
Childe's lit up when Javert emerged from the tent, keeping it open until Soleil walked out. Childe dusted his hands and met her halfway.
"How'd it go?" he asked. "Just as we thought. Kokomi has decided to investigate Seirai and left their main base," Soleil answered.
"Sounds like a good time for a raid," Childe smirked. "My thoughts exactly. Pick your men. We're going to stop by somewhere before leaving for Seirai Island," Soleil said.
"Where is that exactly?" Childe asked. "The captives tattled that there is a squad of soldiers waiting in ambush at Shirikoro Peak. That is where they were headed before we caught them," Soleil explained, "We'll take them out first before regrouping with Luna at Moshiri Kara. We'll flank the camps at Southern Seirai by attacking from both directions."
"Sounds like a plan," Childe said and chuckled in anticipation as he headed for base, "Finally, we're getting somewhere!"
"Javert, set up our transportations near Chirai Shrine. We'll meet you there after our business at Shirikoro," Soleil instructed the Fatuus next to her. "Yes, Miss Soleil," Javert said and disappeared.
Soleil summoned her gunblade and inspected its sharpness. The blade was thinned to sharpness, and the chamber was fully loaded with Faux Loads, cartridges of Cryo and Electro mostly.
Fight to incapacitate. Not to kill. Soleil had to remind this to herself before she cleaned up her office, hiding and/or discarding certain documents while she was away.
They've relocated their base inside Mt. Kanna and prompted a few modern ballistas on vantage points, their formation on the defensive side rather than offense.
Much to Childe's disappointment, the ballistas were loaded with paralyzing nets instead of arrows. Because as mentioned, they were fighting to incapacitate, even though the opponents were ready to kill.
It didn't take long to prepare. Soleil met Childe's squadron of Fatui agents and Geochanters. Soleil made tightened Aurora's holster around her thigh and flicked her coat.
"You ready?" Childe asked. "Let's go," Soleil nodded, causing Childe to smirk.
Both of them disappeared in the blink of an eye. Unbothered by this, the Fatui agents disappeared one by one, and the rest swiftly left the camp, crossing Oina Beach.
There were a few soldiers on the lookout in disguised outposts. They spotted the group of Fatui soldiers running towards the mountain and were immediately alarmed.
"T-The Fatui! They're here!"
"Warn the others!"
The previously lax soldiers rushed to warn their comrades. However, before they can hurry off, they were stopped by the sudden appearance of a young woman in a white coat.
Her golden eyes glinted ominously as she smirked at them, "You're late."
She rushed at the frozen soldiers and quickly incapacitated them, dodging a swipe of a polearm before taking out a taser, stabbing it at each soldier's abdomen.
"Agh–"
Their grunts were suppressed as Soleil covered their mouths, watching as the high voltage knocked them out cold. Finishing with the last one at the outpost, she released the soldier and let him slump on the ground next to her.
