"So... you're going to tell her, right?"

"Naturally. Lesser Lord Kusanali is my superior. She must know everything–including the fact that you're still alive."

"I see. That's fine with me," Soleil said. The pair walked out the House of Daena.

Cyno knew they had several things to discuss. He left earlier, giving the two privacy. Alhaitham glanced at Soleil.

"You can pay her a visit and tell her as an alternative. That can work, too," he said. "I don't know. I don't feel like seeing her yet. I'm more curious about where the Professor is," Soleil replied.

"If you're looking for your overdramatic mentor, he's hiding in Aaru Village. He abandoned his house sometime before the Sabzeruz Festival when Azar tried to get information about you. Candace was more than willing to protect him, and the Sages were smart enough not to provoke her," Alhaitham stated, amused.

"That's a relief. Out of all the places in Sumeru, the desert is the last place the Sages want to step unto," Soleil said.

Candace was the village protector and a good acquaintance of hers. She took care of Soleil when she was a student and was very keen on keeping her well-fed, and that she always had sleep when she stays at the village. Knowing the Professor was there with her, Soleil's worries disappeared.

"Information about me, huh? Whatever did those wrinkled idiots want from me?" Soleil placed a hand on her hip.

"They tried to make a false god. Since you were bold enough to deal with forbidden knowledge and the divine, perhaps they wanted to know how you did it," Alhaitham said.

"Must be," Soleil muttered. The creation of Sumeru's false god...

"You predicted correctly. The Fatui seems to be involved, but any physical evidence of it does not exist. Without that evidence, I cannot submit an appeal to remove Snezhnaya's diplomats from Sumeru and the Akademiya," Alhaitham said.

"You're taking the offensive. That's surprising," Soleil said, "I can help you with the evidence, if you like."

"Heh. I was expecting you'd say that," Alhaitham smiled, amused, "It is said that The Doctor had a hand in the process. I'll appreciate it if you can get me information on his involvement."

"Expecting, huh? I feel like I fell into one of your schemes," Soleil shook her head.

"It's not a scheme. Just an analysis of cause and effect," Alhaitham chuckled, "If you can think five steps ahead, I'm inclined to think ten steps further."

"Right," Soleil rolled her eyes. "Anyway, if you predicted their involvement a few months prior, then that means you have information that I don't," Alhaitham said.

"I guess I do," Soleil said mysteriously. "Then be wise to use it this time," Alhaitham said.

"Fine. In turn, I want those documents to turn up smoothly," Soleil said. "You have a deal," Alhaitham nodded.

Evidence of Dottore's involvement disappeared? He must've planned it so there won't be any leverage against him. However, the was one evidence he left behind, Soleil thought. The key variable of the creation of the false god.

The Balladeer.

Soleil left the Akademiya and stared down at the city at the foot of the Divine Tree. It was peaceful. There was not a single mark of chaos or destruction.

It was different from her expectations. When The Balladeer took the Electro Gnosis, she expected he would try to be a god. She also anticipated that the Grand Sage was plotting something cynical during the Sabzeruz Festival. But she didn't expect that the two incidents would be connected.
