The rest of the night was uneventful. Luna changed into a villager disguise upon reaching Ritou, then changing into another set of disguises upon boarding a merchant ship headed to Liyue.
Among all the places she had to visit, Liyue was the easiest to travel through. The spies of the Qixing were not around to scour information about Luna like they usually did. That was no coincidence.
Soleil asked for Ningguang's and Beidou's assistance in the past few months. Using Luna's intel about the Crux's business with Watatsumi Island, Soleil knew there was an agreement between Kokomi and Beidou.
That was why she was counting on Kokomi to hire the Crux Fleet in their little skirmish. Soleil needed Beidou to enter Inazuma and do her a favor without a single suspicion. Judging from the current situation, it seems like it worked.
The Tianquan was also upholding her side of the deal, keeping the Fatui at bay with her own methods and overlooking Luna's activity in Liyue.
Luna dressed into a fourth disguise upon entering Wangshu Inn. Verr Goldet's lips barely curled upon receiving Luna as a guest, but it was only fleeting. The rest of the night at the inn was peaceful.
Wangshu Inn was one of Ningguang's places and it was the safest places to be at the moment. But the luxurious treatment as a guest could not faze the icy investigator.
Aside from rest, she stopped by Wangshu Inn for another reason. Late afternoon the next day, Luna left the inn and approached a certain table where a certain individual was seated inconspicuously.
His whole body was obscured beneath the black cloak, but the hood decorated with jackal ears and the strands of white hair spilling out immediately gave his identity away to Luna.
She sat down wordlessly across from the figure. Crimson eyes met her silvery ones, acknowledgement and silent greetings exchanged.
"Your journey from Sumeru was uneventful, I hope," Luna said. "Mostly. Were you followed?" Cyno asked.
"No. You?" Luna asked. "No," Cyno shook his head.
"Great. I'd hate to deal with unnecessary troubles. If there's nothing else, we'll proceed to Mondstadt. I should warn you that we'll have to be most cautious in Mondstadt," Luna said.
"How so?" Cyno asked. "I'm assuming that you managed to escape Sumeru due to your connections and your position. The powerhouses in Liyue are also making it easier to move around. But in Mondstadt... let's just say, there are a few people to be wary of," Luna explained.
"I see. That means senior Lisa is not meant to know about this," Cyno said. "Also her," Luna nodded and looked at the orange skies.
"It's time. We better move so we arrive at our final destination by midnight."
Cyno didn't have to ask or say anything else. The two obscured individuals departed from Liyue and traced careful routes to Mondstadt.
There's no harm in Lisa knowing in Luna's opinion. It's Grandmaster Varka and Diluc Ragnvindr that she finds concerning.
Diluc Ragnvindr has access to the most powerful intelligence networks in the continent. If Luna can't elude him, she had lesser chances of avoiding everybody else. Grandmaster Varka was just as alarming. If a man so far away catches wind, her efforts will go to waste.
Going through the normal route to Mondstadt means passing by the areas around Diluc's manor. Inevitably, he'll hear about us and will begin investigating, Luna thought.
She relayed other plans to Cyno along the way, sharing insights as people who excelled in acting swiftly and silently. In the end, Cyno arrived at the same conclusion as Luna did.
