Kazuha's closed eyes shot open in alert. This uneasiness he senses in the air...

He turned to the distance where Soleil and Ayaka had gone. Kazuha was skeptical. Why is he sensing danger all of a sudden?

I must check on them, Kazuha thought and jumped off the branch he sat upon.

Soleil frowned at the growing mass surrounding her.

They weren't with Ayaka when she arrived. That means Kujou Sara sent these men. But how did they get past the patrolling Fatui? Unless...

"Tsk. Looks like the Tenryou Commission has their own spies among the Fatui," Soleil got into a defensive stance.

"You found out a little too late. You won't have the time to find them," a soldier scowled.

"Rest assured, Lady Kamisato. We'll bring this criminal before the Raiden Shogun," a soldier glanced at Ayaka.

"I never asked for reinforcements. What is the meaning of this?!" Ayaka asked, baffled. But none of the soldiers paid her any attention.

Their sole focus was on the woman in front of them. Soleil narrowed her gaze and turned around, ready to flee.

Several soldiers crowd over her attempted path. Soleil turned to the side, and more soldiers stood ready.

"There's nowhere to go," the captain spoke sternly. "Hah! Fine," Soleil glared and took Aurora out of its holster, "I'll just have to cut my way through."

She saw a familiar Fatui Agent hidden in the distance, looking at her worryingly but never moving until she gave him orders.

"Hmph," Soleil spun the weapon in hand before aiming it at the soldiers before her, "If we're expecting your friends, tell them to hurry and don't waste my time!"

That was the signal. Javert nodded and stepped back into the portal behind him, leaving them to alert the main base.

"Oh, believe me, they'll be here soon. We're rounding you all up and we'll end this battle!" The captain declared, causing his soldiers to chant battle cries.

That wasn't for you. But well, good to know we're expecting more, Soleil thought. She could try and transmute, but her body...

"Arrest her!" The Shogunate captain yelled. "Over my dead body, you will!" Soleil aimed her gunblade at the soldiers charging at her ardently.

Bang!

Bang! Bang!

Bang!

Paralyzing bullets flew from Aurora's mouth, striking soldier after soldier and subduing them with high-voltage shocks.

Several soldiers fell as they drew closer. More soldiers came to rush at Soleil from behind. Soleil looked over her shoulder, eyes narrowing.

She jumped into the air and tossed a bomb pin unto the ground where she stood, clicking the detonator attached to her belt.

Click!

BAM!

Nearby soldiers groaned as they fell to the floor, eelctrocuted by the aftershocks of the explosion. Creating an opening through the stunned crowd, Soleil adjusted her grip on her weapon and dove in like a hunting eagle.

She slashed the weapons of soldiers in her way, blasting them off the distance. Arrows began raining on her from different positions at different times. Soleil groaned when an arrow whizzed past her cheek, leaving a mark.

Bloody archers, Soleil glared. She raised her gunblade and shot down the archers she could see, flexibly dodging the soldiers trying to strike her or take her down.
