"So did you guys find anything useful." Angelo asked looking at Leonardo.
"I don't know for sure but from the looks of it. The guys that attacked were men from the black serpent." Leonardo replied.
"The black serpents!! Adrian said loud enough for people from the outside could hear him.
"Shhhh keep your voice down." Zuko said to Adrian with a finger on his lips to stop him from talking.
"What did we do that pissed the black serpents?" Nico added.
Leonardo signed "I'm not sure but if has something to do with Dads or uncle D'Cruz work, we have to keep on high alert. The black serpents are not people to be messed around with."
The rest of the car ride back to the Lorenzi mansion was silent, each one of them filled with their own thoughts.
"Hey Leo what about the Cassanders, I mean from the looks of it the black serpents might be going after them as-well." Zuko said breaking the awkward silence.
"Since when did you start caring about the Cassanders? I mean our family together with The D'Cruz family have been enemies with the Cassanders family for years." Draco said looking at Zuko with confused look on his face.
"I mean we have no idea as to why they attacked us today and clearly they are planning on doing the same to the Cassanders family. Maybe the Cassanders family at least has an idea as to why." Zuko replied.
"Zuko has a point," Leonardo said after a moment of contemplation. "We can't afford to ignore any potential allies or sources of information, even if they come from our enemies. Desperation calls for unconventional measures."
Angelo nodded, his eyes narrowing as he considered the implications. "We need to find out more about the Black Serpents' motives. If they're targeting both us and the Cassanders, there might be a larger game at play."
Draco sighed, still visibly uncomfortable with the idea. "So, what's the plan? Are we going to reach out to the Cassanders?"
Leonardo turned to Angelo, awaiting his decision. "We might not have a choice. We need to know what we're up against. But we approach them cautiously. This could be a trap."
"Agreed," Angelo said firmly. "We'll send a discreet message to the Cassanders, proposing a temporary truce and a meeting to discuss our common enemy. But we do this on our terms, in our territory."
Nico, who had been silent, finally spoke up. "And if they refuse? Or worse, if they double-cross us?"
"Then we'll be ready," Leonardo replied, his voice steely. "We can't let fear dictate our actions. We need to be proactive."
As they pulled up to the Lorenzi mansion, Angelo turned to the Lorenzi siblings and his own siblings "Get some rest tonight we'll also do the same. Tomorrow, we start planning. We need to be ready for anything." With the the D'Cruz family drove off to their own mansion
They all nodded in agreement and separated from the D'Cruz family allowing them to leave.
"Hey Leo could I talk to you in private for a sec." Zuko muttered to Leonardo.
"Sure what is it." Leo replied crossing his arms standing.
"Do you think any of this black serpent thing has something to do with Valentina? I mean this is going to sound stupid but what are the odds that we suddenly choose to figure more out about Valentina and the similar birthmark as mine and suddenly, BAM.... The serpent are targeting us, Adrian's family and also the Cassanders. Odd isn't it?" Zuko explained to Leonardo.
